ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Just I magine what they'd spend if they could just compete with those monied clubs...

the mind boggles.
The money they've spent trying to is truly shocking mate. Ever since they signed and ruined Paul Stewart by paying Tottenham 2.5m circa they've just wasted millions down the years. Mostly their signings aren't worth the fee whatsoever but occasionally they sign decent players who just turn crap once they put on that shirt. Its laughable really !

50 for rip van winkle, another 10 for Borini.
This is why the kopite media is so insidious. On any other team he is worth £25m, tops. But because of the constant fawning over whoever is their flavour of the month they'll get double that.

What is hilarious is that in spite of the ludicrously inflated fees they get they STILL manage to waste all the money.

remember when they nearly fluked about £12m for borini and then he said no to sunderland ... sat on liverpool's bench (at best) for the season and probably wasted a mass of wages.

... he'll go for about 5 or 6 mill this summer tops you'd think.

benteke's a better player with his feet than your standard target men, but his bread and butter is crosses. they've just spend £30m on an attacking midfielder to play through balls so they then want to spent £32m on a target man! they just have no plans whatsoever. they don't have a good crosser in the whole squad - benteke has got to look at better options for his career.

They've spent more money on crap

Than any club in the history of football

They could give United Utilities lessons on how to deal with sewage. They've bought that much of it down the years.

Liverpool Football Club - Anfield sewage treatment works

Everything is fine if you read the Liverpool Echo.

They really ARE a weird bunch. The following is a post from an old friend on Facebook:

"Good Morning everyone, its lovely cool here now,, after that thunder/lightening last night, hope you all have a fab day, keep safe....YNWA xx"

Feck all to do with Liberpewl like, but still got YAWN at the end.

I unfriended any idiot who put that kind of rubbish after a random sentence, We would always without question have massive over the top confrontations on derby days too.

I do miss the random lunacy though of:

'just had a very nice steak for tea JFT96'

....lots of conjecture about their signings in this window, the amount being spent is certainly significantly more than I anticipated. Seems they are spending the Sterling money and whether the signings are successful or not will only become evident next season.

I don't know if I'm missing something half the time with Sterling but I swear he's not even that good. Like alright he's a young lad who will improve and he's got a little bit more about him than a bog standard speed merchant but does that make him worth 40m+?

...I like him, I think he is important for the way the Reds play. Saying that, I agree that the figures being quoted are way too high considering he is a lot about potential.
