benteke's a better player with his feet than your standard target men, but his bread and butter is crosses. they've just spend £30m on an attacking midfielder to play through balls so they then want to spent £32m on a target man! they just have no plans whatsoever. they don't have a good crosser in the whole squad - benteke has got to look at better options for his career.
It's what makes Brenda's constant jabberings about 'long-term plans' and implementing their 'philosophy' all the more laughable.

His actions during the last Summer transfer window show the polar opposite of having any form of philosophy or long term plan to their play.

In the 'oh so near year', they were successful by letting the opposition have the ball before breaking away with pace and power.

Suarez obviously left, yet their replacements in Mario and Ricky (with Borini coming back) all lack these vital traits.

It's like having a champion hurdling race horse whom will jump all day, and replacing him with a mountain goat that just stands around.

And then they're surprised that they do not win anything... Bentelehead should steer clear.

Haven't stopped laughing all day after listening to Micky 'tub of lard' Quinn this morning. He 'has it on good authority' that Benteke is on his way to LFC and the deal is £7 million plus Lambert and Enrique .

Interesting fact - Brenda is the premier league's second longest serving manager!

Wenger has been Arsenal manager since late 1996 (18 plus seasons) - wiki says 6,846 days. The rest of the PL have been in their current posts (in the PL only) for a combined 15 full seasons and a total of 6,323 days (NB only counting PL tenure - plus a further 1,188 days for the 3 promoted managers).

Hughes (3rd) and Mourinho (4th longest) were appointed 6 and 2 days before Martinez (5th) and Pelligrini 9 day later. These 4 have 2 complete seasons behind them in current post whilst Rodgers has 3 and Monk, VG, Pochi and Koeman 1 full season each. Eddie Howe would be considered the 3rd longest serving manager including his time outside the PL at Bournemouth.

Excluding small breaks between jobs: Continuous tenure in the PL in one or more job: 1 Wenger 2 Martinez (6 seasons), 3 Hughes (5), 4 Pardew (resigning at Newcastle to join Palace) (4+), 5 Rodgers (4) whilst Pulis has been a PL manager for 7 seasons (though he took a break after leaving Stoke before joining Palace).

I unfriended any idiot who put that kind of rubbish after a random sentence, We would always without question have massive over the top confrontations on derby days too.

I do miss the random lunacy though of:

'just had a very nice steak for tea JFT96'
Should do it back mate as it shows them how much of a bellend they look when they do it, such as "just went for a quality turd after tea NSNO"

How can that be though, they are not a petro dollar club or FSG finally ditching the failed moneyball concept.

They've always had money, and they always will have money. Their weird fans like to claim they're skint as a way of justifying their failings, but really they can afford to spunk as much up the wall as they consistently do, whether they're in the Champions League or not. It's a depressing fact of life. We laugh at them wasting so much money, however it doesn't actually matter to them. There will always be another £200m lying around the next summer for them to chuck at players until they get the inevitable 1 in 20 amazing player who carries the rest of their bang average dross

Hear what you're saying, but this is a club that was in a whisker of administration not so long ago, saved only by its status. Success is needed to maintain the following globally and while it may take time I would be surprised if the latest very latest generation of Asian fans will be donning the RS shirt.
