To be fair, Bobby has just said McGeady is going nowhere this window (I imagine that might also change if someone puts a bid in)

It's just what Managers (have to) say.
Exactly. Managers, as you mentioned, have to spout certain rhetoric when 'playing' the transfer market; in the end it is all just a game.

Even though the standard 'he isn't for sale' is often a thinly veiled acceptance that they're willing to sell, it can arguably earn them a few million.

Once a manager accepts that they're willing to sell a player, then the bargaining chips are with the interested party who can barter more.

I'm sure Rodgers would have loved to have kept Sterling, but he was aware he'd probably go in the window. So it was then down to how much for.

However, if he had said he could go and then I doubt they'd have got £49m that they're swindled out of City. Playing the system you may say.

It's still amusing that they've lost their starlet... however it's not enough to start saying Rodgers was a deluded liar or what not.

I bloody love Aguero but there was a time where Suarez was unplayable and quite a lot better than Aguero.

Gerrard, again was for a time an exceptional player and at the time one of the best players on his position. Let's not be so one eyed to the point of blindness.

But he didn't play for City, he played for them and became world class during that time, which was the original point.

I can quote the figures that show on 68 games Aguero and 65 Suraez - Aguero came out on top in every category goals, shots the lot.

You are wrong in every conceivable way.

Sterling been good for the rs, we would be chuffed is our Ross has the same stats as sterling, sterling created 75 chances last season where our Ross created 58 chances over two seasons. They go on about Philippe being their best player but he created 58 chances lat season and scored 5 goals where sterling scored 8 goals. So for me sterling played just as well as Philippe who their only decent player by the way. Sterling scored 16 goals over two seasons where Barkley scored 5. If Ross was playing on sterling level, he would be gone and we would want 50 million for him and city would still be a getting a good deal.

To be fair to Roy, Sterling really must have been tired. That's were this all started for my money and Brodge dropped the ball big time in how he handled it, the lad hung out to dry in the media.

The ultimate revenge.

Forza Roy.
