Liverpool team is the worst I've seen in years, says Harry Redknapp in attack on 'bang-average' men from Merseyside

Harry Redknapp has branded Brendan Rodgers' team 'bang average' and 'the worst Liverpool side I have seen in years' just four games into the new season..........'I don't fancy Liverpool at all,' said Redknapp at the Telegraph Total Football Live event. 'I think it's the worst Liverpool team I have seen in years. They look bang average. They are lucky to have any points.'Liverpool beat Stoke on the opening day of the season courtesy of a stunning strike from Philippe Coutinho before a narrow win against Bournemouth with an offside goal.
'Bournemouth should have beaten them,' Redknapp said. 'They got a wonder goal at Stoke. OK, they played all right first half at Arsenal.
'I think they will do well to finish in the top five. I am not with Liverpool at all this year. Having said that they will probably win the league.
'I love Liverpool Football Club, and if you said to me which team would I have loved to manage in this country it would be Liverpool - but I can’t see it this year.'

They're vulnerable

@davek

Clyne, Gomez and Milner were decent buys for what they paid and we would be made up if they had turned up here.

Clyne and Gomez would be decent back up, although Gomez would be getting a game currently.

Milner is a solid player, not really what we would have needed though. Older version of Cleverley?

Would have improved the squad but nothing to write home about.

Only players I'd be interested in at Liverpool are the Brazilians (not Lucas).

Coutino is decent alright but that rimeno or whatever his name is will be a disaster I reckon. I watched their game before ours last Saturday and thought he was anonymous tbh. Thirty odd million wasn't it

It's a pleasant thought that they've wasted 30m, again. But he has a very decent record and probably deserves a little bit of time before we can write him off. He's playing in a side that is not performing at the moment also

I have heard that Rodgers has 3 games to save his job. I don't think it's that drastic, but he is definitely under a lot of pressure.

Manchester United away next. Two winnable home games against Norwich/Aston Villa may buy him some time. Then he comes to Everton and Spurs. 6 points from those 5 games (leaving him with 13 after 9) and I think they might chop him.

They seem to be making the same mistakes as last season. They don't have many goals in that team and are lacking creativity. They have scored 1 (legitimate) goal in 4 games, including playing 3 sides who are going to be in the bottom 6-7 sides this season.

Rodgers seems to continually develop new ways of playing, that eventually get caught out. He appears to have gone for a dogs of war style 3 central midfielders. There is no creativity in there whatsoever. Sides will sit off them at Anfield and they will struggle to break them down.

At the back they still have Lovren and Skirtl who lack any kind of organisational ability. Gomez is a decent young player (akin to Galloway or Kenny) who they paid 8 not 3.5 million for but they're asking a lot for a right footed left back to excel there. Clyne is a solid right back, but grossly over estimated.

So essentially they've got a side that looks susceptible to leaking goals while at the same time not likely to score that many.

Where'd you hear that?

Harry Redknapp is a bad, bad melt. I don't care if he's talking about Liverpool being ace, or 'worst team in years' I'll not be taking in anything that tit says.

If they play poorly, create nothing and then lose to a poor and somewhat dysfunctional Manu, RAWK could go into serious meltdown.

Pulls up chair, reaches for beer and popcorn...

It's getting through to the fans as well. Some are beginning to see through the philosophy/dossier/three envelopes bull. They are nowhere near as confident/deluded as usual.........
