He then took over the best team in Europe in Inter and left them at mid table in a weak Italian league. He then took over a Championship contending Chelsea team and finished 46th with them. An Awful manager.

However what I can say for him is that he had the measure of Gerrard. He knew he was a spiteful little ego-centrist drama Queen. He also knew he was a solid but limited footballer. That's why he shoved him out to the right wing, to essentially do a Steven Naismith/Dirk Kuyt role for the team. This is essentially the limit of the lads abilities. He then put better players in Central midfield, like Alonso and Mascherano.

For doing that captain Gerrard led a campaign to bully him out of the club with general snideness. He tried the same with Rodgers and it nearly worked. That's why Rodgers will have him nowhere near the club now. He's poison.

I enjoyed that part of Benitez's tenure....especially the contrast after Houllier's constant love-in with Gerrard. All the gormless RS still falling for his persistent banging on about his humility, when hes revealed himself a self-serving self-publicist extraordinaire over the years. Half of the berks on RAWK who are now choking on his bitchy disloyal titbits in The Mail dont even realise that this is the drone's third book. So much for the weekly articles on him saying how great it is that he can walk around unmolested freely in L.A.....and how brilliant it is that hes a nobody on the street there. Yeah...looks like.

They lap it up because they are the same as him,look at the par league,look at that thing the done of zonal pitch/best player,look at the weirdo stalky letters and poems,look at the inverted rightback,upside down central number ten false goalkeeper they praise B-Rod for when he plays some one out of position
If anybody tried the par league crap on here,or posted poems/letters they would be ripped to bits,when Roberto plays some one out of position he gets called a knobhead we dont make up imaginary positions, gobshites they are always have been always will be
 
They really are the dimmest set of fans on the planet. Everyone could see Suarez basically carried them to second place on his own but they bought all that manger speak by Rodgers when the whole world could see he was a fraud.

Despite what they might have said publicly I honestly think the majority of them were expecting a title challenge this year (sterling isnt as good as ibe, clyne is the greatest defender ever, henderson is world class, milner is the best free ever, ings is tremendous back up, firmino is the brazilian messi etc)

They are the most clueless fans of any team in any sport. Genuinely display traits of a brainwashed cult. Just utterly bizarre people.
