Luis Suarez has responded angrily to comments from FIFA vice-president Jim Boyce over his comments about the Liverpool striker.Northern Irishman Boyce, Britain's representative on FIFA, described Suarez's clear dive against Stoke as "nothing less than cheating" and said simulation was a "cancer" in the game. That prompted the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) to write to FIFA defending their player and demanding Boyce be referred to the governing body's Ethics Committee.
And Suarez, who played for his country in Saturday night's 3-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Argentina, has now has his say. In an interview on Argentinian radio, quoted in the Sun, the 25-year-old said: "This guy (Boyce), I've no idea who he is. I don't know why he has been talking about me. He certainly can't be well-known and he wants to get publicity."
He added: "Let him carry on talking. My job is to play football and to try to do so in the best way possible. What he has said does not affect me. I am not interested in what he has to say. It's been important to have the support of the Uruguayan FA and the people."
Suarez has always been a controversial figure, with the diving discussion adding to last season's race row with Patrice Evra, for which he was banned for eight matches.
And he added: "I have lived through a lot in the past year, with people saying things about me, but I have continued playing and proving my job is what happens on the pitch."
The AUF's letter, signed by the organisation's president Sebastian Bauza and general secretary Anibal de Olivera, described Boyce's remarks as "at odds with the principles of world football governing."
It continued: "The code of ethics of FIFA, in its article three, clearly states: 'Officers should be aware of the importance of their role and the obligations and responsibilities that entails'.
"Deliberately ignoring his position and role, Mr Boyce has referred specifically to a football player, encouraging and provoking hostility towards him."
The letter also included a list of six steps the AUF want FIFA to take, including withdrawing their confidence in Boyce, referring him to the ethics committee and expressing their regret to Suarez.

considering he's "not interested in what he has to say" he's felt the need to go on the Radio and say stuff.

so, calling someone Negrito is ok down there way but the use of the 'c' word is way too far over the line for them.

Me thinks that the U.N. may need to send a team down there for some education.

for the record I don't really like the way that the 'c' word is used to describe things, but it's hardly something for the UFA to base their protest on.

Suarez admits he is "anxious" during matches, but said he is not concerned that he is the center of a hot Premier League debate over diving."I have to improve my attitude on the pitch. The anxiety brings me to protest a lot," Suarez told Uruguay's Ovacion newspaper Tuesday ahead of Uruguay's World Cup qualifier vs. Argentina on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. "If I started reading the newspapers, I wouldn't be able to play in England. I am happy at Liverpool, the coach likes me and the players do too.
"Everyone should focus on their own team," he told Ovacion. "Those who want to talk can do so, I am not worried about what they say.
"They can keep talking and in the meantime I will keep on playing football and taking care of my team and what I do. Nothing else matters."

he's got ADHD ffs, get him on the tranqs.

How ironic that after another week of global debate over Luis Suárez's theatrics he should be the last striker standing at Liverpool. How badly the shortage reflects on a club of such grandiose designs.

I hate that phrase "the ref offered no protection..."

Fast, skillful players get kicked more than grock yard dog midfielders. So it was, thus shall it always be. F*cking get on with it.

Messi makes him look a fool with his little chip setting up De Maria to cross to Aguero for the 2nd

I turned it on for a minute after South Park, and he is David Brent mkII. After the West Brom defeat he was saying something along the lines of:

Err, so it's not only yourselves you can trust?

It's almost like FGS have agreed to allow all the players and staff star in a scripted comedy mockumentary show.

His team talks are something you'd think a manager who has won stuff for years and demands respect.

He hasn't.

Christmas and he's gone. They'll turn on him.

I'd disagree, he's like a person who's in his first managerial role and this is how he thinks he and all managers act. He spout cliches and is a walking stereotype. The senior pros must be cringing with embarrassment. I do agree he'll be gone by xmas. His only hope is that get a bit of a run going and rise the table a bit. I think we are in for mor fun times before that happens though, tit

That Jen Chang bloke has denied threatening that bloke on Twitter - yet admitted to meeting him.

He's not fully into the Liverpool Way yet is he? Jen, if you're going to claim a conspiraceee, you have to deny the WHOLE thing!
