No £77 tickets but there's always this little fiddle

Liverpool shop Williamson Square

Adult shirts £49.99 now £30
Juniors £41.99 now £25

Spot anything a bit wrong with those prices?

Yep. The Juniors are the same price as the adults and, before the reduction MORE EXPENSIVE

Junior shirts are Zero Rated for VAT.

So an adult shirt was £41.67 plus VAT now £25 plus VAT

Sounds a bit rough on juniors - less material higher prices

I am clearly misreading that, but it looks like Juniors are cheaper before and after

TD is considering what goes into Liverpool's coffers after they have paid VAT to HMRC.

Before, they would have collected £49.99 from an adult shirt but would be left with £41.67 after paying VAT (the difference between £49.99 and £41.67 to the taxman).
With a child shirt they would have collected £41.99 and kept it all.

Haha, gotcha.. You have to hand it to them Yanks, they have a lot of plans for squeezing out the money, something our owners have none of.

All this hassle for for 200 seats that have a price hike of about £17 per game.
19 league matches and approx 10 cup? Matches, so say 30 in total is about one weeks pay for Sturridge. £100,000

The thing i love about this season is that Leicester have out money-balled them, thats how you do it, not a Southampton player in sight.

Them buying players such as Lallana, Lovren and any other player who was flavour of the month completely went against the ideas behind moneyball. The idea behind Moneyball is to get players in who are currently undervalued at their current clubs in hope that they can reach their true value at your club. However Liverpool have only really done this with Sturridge and Coutinho, all the rest they have paid way over their true value.

TL;DR: Liverpool chat wham and shouldn't buy players from Southampton.

I don't think it's even that much. I thought the £77 was only going to apply for Category 1 matches of which there are around 8 per season.
