Summed up rather nicely I thought. So basically the first time they play a game in the "serious" part of pre season they get beat.
Anyone who has coached or played in pre season knows there are generally to phases. The fitness building knock about stage and the more competitive part where you start to look at teams and positions. It coincides really with when you move beyond 90% fitness work towards a program that begins to incorporate tactical drills.
For a lot of teams the tours abroad mark the start of the serious process. Results before mid July can really be discarded and most coaches don't take them seriously. Remember Klopp saying he would be worried if they were winning? (That will be whitewashed from history mind you). Or coaches never really playing serious games in this time as it's all about gaining fitness?
LFC have piled the games on (against conference level sides) in that time frame and got some impressive wins (who will ever forget the 1-0 V Tranmere and the pitch invasion that followed). As they played so many they were a lot fitter than there opponents. I'll be quite honest with you. I think they have done this just to try and inflate their own feelings of self worth. Essentially pile on the wins against no mark teams to make us feel better.
What you have to understand with LFC is there is a huge gap between what they are and what they think they are. They are no different to us, or Southampton, or West Ham but think they are a Real Madrid. So most of the day to day existence tries to close that gap. Essentially a collective act of delusion to make themselves think they are European royalty when they are mid table mediocrity.
It's funny with pre season, as the first competitive match they have played they've now lost. Clop is a loose cannon. He came very close to taking Dortmund down, they were still bottom half way through a season. Thats why he resigned, jumped before he finished the job as he did with Mainz. I wouldn't rule it out with this shower whatsoever.
All of the signings look like Rodgers signings. Overpaying for average premier league players and a couple of punts. Their pre season makes me laugh, as piling on the games early doors to get a few morale boosting wins, rather than put the work in required to sustain a long season.
I'd happily take any bet with any Kopite we'll be above them after their pre season after say 8 games? Or 6 games. I made a similar bet last season when after 10 games we were above them and funnily enough none of the rats wanted to know.
Not to worry, in the 'Alternative International Champions Cup thread' they're playing Real Madrid in the final on Saturday.

John Aldridge expects this trio to play a huge role for Liverpool this season
Liverpool goal scoring great John Aldridge believes Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has assembled a squad that can compete for the Premier League title next season, as he named his starting eleven ahead of their season opener against Arsenal next month.
Has anyone heard of this 'unwritten rule'
"One of the classic, unwritten rules in football, is that you should be worried if your team is winning preseason games."

I presume the sweats on Rawk will be waxing lyrical on how its the chance to avenge last seasons "freak" result when, though the better side, they were beaten 3-0 by Real at home.
Why he mentions Firminho I'll never know, I've never saw anything in him. That's not me being biased either, I just don't see what he does. Has the odd good game.Aldo has been drinking with the pigeons again

It was striking that their obsession with Man U was mentioned and Pogba.
The way I see it is that Man U are buying pure class, expensive class but class nonetheless.
The RS go out and buy a bucket load of 20 odd million pound players, which they've done for the last few seasons. I'd rather have one top of the range than half a dozen mid range.
A man who owns one watch knows exactly what time it is, a man who own two is never quite sure.
I reckon Jose is the man with the Rolex.
