ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I don't understand the gushing admiration for Klopp amongst some elements of our fans. As LFC manager, he shifts between irrelevancy and disdain in my eyes, he is a media creation who perpetuates his own hype back to that willing media.

I didn't mind Rodgers when it became clear that he was failing (actually no better reason to 'like' an LFC manager) and I think Roy Evans was a decent man. Dalglish was a very staid, dull character, but at least he appreciated and understood the rivalry between us.

Klopp was almost falling over himself laughing from the sidelines on that shameful night in April. Very little is done out of context in football these days and whilst it didn't get much attention due to our shambolic performance, it will have went down very well with their fans. I just thought, even taking away the rivalry between the clubs, that it was classless and unncecessary on Klopp's part.

One of the big items on Koeman's "to-do" list for me is getting a few wins against them, our record recently is an absolute disgrace.

Lets be honest mate it was laughable. Lucas Lieva having 25 yard shots against us is almost as laughable as a perfectly performed scene involving David Jason and Ronnie Barker at their very best and then some.

Except it wasn't funny at the time, It was a mix of acceptance and despair, we are almost accepting of acceptance when it comes to defeats at Mordor.

Can't say I blame Herr Klopp for that. He'd probably heard all about the fast paced, high octane, form out the window derby games with us and then saw the offering we brought forth and laughed it up. Even when Rodgers beat us 4-0 it was largely against the run of possession etc. Let's face it, if we smash them and Koeman is laughing on the sidelines we'd be drooling over Gifs and pictures for years to come.

On a side note, those games have got less poisonous recently with both sets of fans behaving themselves better in terms of chanting and missiles etc I think largely in part to the Justice campaign all coming to a head and merseyside being brought together because of it. Still a long way from the "friendly derby" but think the fact we're complaining about the manager rather than the supporters is a really positive sign. Get everything back to taking the mick over what happens on the pitch

Even the thought of it. :) I take a scrappy 1-0 win against them any day, even if deflected in from a ricochet off someones arse with 10 of the team offside.

Yeh, they're alright dem redmen. Dunno where they get the bad rep from like. Best supporters in DER WERLD larrr. See how they behaved impeccably in Brussels, Athens, Basel.... Boss that lad. Pride of the city an dat.... boss advert for the region.

The cheek of de meediaa... painting dem as paving slab-lashing, wall-pushing, ambulance-shaking, disabled-child-insulting, racially-intolerant, self-entitled gubshytes.... must be bitter blue journalists or mancs....

All proper kicking off on there, this is a powder keg and I hope local reds get a protest together. Primarily because they have had their club stolen from them by out of towners and I think clubs belong to the working class communities they are situated in. However also because it will create an instability.

There are lots of comments like this floating around on the Echo:
"Jimmyv

Yea that will really help the team. Typical scouse moron"

It's indicative of their out of town support and the contempt and outward hatred they hold towards the local population of Liverpool. It's not the only comment of that ilk either. Bring on the civil war.

Again alongside what I said a few days ago re financing of Liverpool (and no doubt flew over the heads of the dullard sheep of RAWK) some reds are beginning to see the wood for the trees re FSG.

"The price of a match ticket.. irrelevant to the way the owners plan development etc.
owners are... money men and investment funds, and whenever they need money to say build a new stand or similar, they borrow money on the back of the club, they don't actually use their own cash. It's exactly what Gilette and Hicks did, basically taking out re-mortgages and loans against LFC. "

"Scum. Pure and simple. No different to Hicks and Gilette."

"Shock horror, the only way FSG will fulfill their promise is to rip off the fans, all the money that the club makes, none of which is reinvested in the squad apart from transfers and now they are essentially threatening the fans that if they don't let them charge through the roof they will not expand the stand, this added to the fact we have become the biggest selling club in world football during their tenure, with no club making more from transfers over the last 6 years (the time FSG just happen to be in charge) then us and its laughable that fans support them and don't see them for anything more then they are, greedy Yanks who saw a chance to make money by buying a worldwide brand at a knockdown price".

"Actually at Dortmund and Bayern the seating tickets can be really expensive. Over 100 quid or more. These subsidise the cheaper standing tickets. FSG tried to do the same but the revolutionaries in SOS caused a walkout."

I could go on but this will get nasty. Some of the brighter mainly local lads are waking up to what's happened to their club. RAWK will try to fulfil it's function as the opium of the masses but I'm not sure how long for. Get me some popcorn, I hope FFG bleed the club, price out the locals and they are left with a ground for of wealthy out of towners who hate scousers. That's the vision for the FFG defenders.

Truth is, if Liverpool were for sale at the price they would normally of commanded, then FSG would not have even looked them up on Wikipedia. They bought the club for the value of the clubs debts, nothing more nothing less. They bought the club as an opportunity to see some huge returns on an investment.

Makes me laugh that they've been given this huge amount of coverage for building a new stand and regenerating the area that they destroyed, when the only reason they drove out the local families was to build a stand so that they can welcome people from out of town.

Sadly itlo
Until they got bought out by one of dem oil club typez
Sadly it looks like the Everbright who are the European investment arm of the Chinese Investment corporation.

To me it looks like he is readying the RS fans by saying we cannot fund further expansion so we're selling a stake which will pay for the expansion.I hope it doesn't happen as the Chinese are really into big projects and can see them investing in the club stadium and surrounding Anfield/Stanley park and adding infastructure to something like what the Sheikh has done with the Etihad campus. :(

Said it in the Everton stadium thread that they wouldn't be expanding anfield road anytime soon.

Plenty of spares flying round for them these days. They are getting more and more like United where the old school fans go away and don't bother with the home games.
