Well Anthony Taylor was allowed to referee our FA Cup Semi Final v United last season so I don't see whats more special about this RS v Utd game. Unless, of course, theres another meeting of "The Special Dispensation Committee" due to convene to make an exception for them again.

It will all go the other way with Mr Taylor giving the RS everything

Ian Ayre all but confirming that the Anfield road expansion isn't happening. They may even ask the fans to fund it.

Impossible to get a ticket though lads

It's always fun seeing RS fans being wound up but when it comes from their owners it's c'est magnifique!

Liverpool’s chief executive, Ian Ayre, has said it would cost between £60m-£70m to rebuild the Anfield Road end of the stadium and described the possible 15-year repayments as “not a smart investment for the business.”

Liverpool received outline planning permission to redevelop Anfield Road and increase stadium capacity by 4,800 in September 2014 as part of its application for the new main stand. However, the club has always stated it needed to find the right economic model before proceeding with phase two of the redevelopment and, in a meeting with the Liverpool Supporters’ Committee, Ayre outlined the difficulties in expanding Anfield to a capacity of 58,500 and above.

Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool’s owner, funded the £114m construction of the main stand with an interest-free loan. The owners expect the loan to be repaid within six years due to the number of hospitality seats, which account for approximately half of the extra 8,500 seats in the new building. Anfield Road, Ayre told LSC, would not pay for itself so quickly.

“A stand behind a goal doesn’t have the benefit of hospitality that would go a long way to meet the redevelopment costs,” said the chief executive, in minutes from the meeting. “If you consider the redevelopment of Anfield Road from a purely general admission perspective, building, say, 6,000 extra seats to take the capacity up to 60,000 would cost somewhere between £60m and £70m. At £12,000 to £13,000 per seat, it would take approximately 15 years to pay back, which is not a smart investment for the business. Therefore the club needs to find a rounded solution that’s in the best interests of the football club.”

Ayre claimed that while Liverpool were seeking the “rounded solution” to rebuild Anfield Road, the club also needed time following the construction of the main stand “to ensure that what it has put in place works, and in tandem continue with plans for Anfield Road. However, as with the main stand, the club has to find the right economic model, and only then will it be the right time to move forward.”

It was suggested at the meeting that Liverpool supporters could invest in the £60m-£70m costs of a new Anfield Road. Graham Smith, who represents Merseyside-based fans on the LSC, said: “There are people who would think a 15-year return would make sense, and that’s the supporters. The supporters would fund such a development up front if the club made an appeal for financial support.

We're not ones to talk truthfully. Every club has it's bogey teams and bogey refs. We're no exception.

Only difference is I think they'll end up swapping the ref out as the media is picking up on this with even Keith Hackett posting about it on his official website

we have legitimate claims though. They have about one 50/50 decision that could have gone in their favour go against them in a season, counter "balanced" by about 20 dodgy decisions that go in their favour ... yet they always moan about that one 50/50. We don't get anywhere near the dodgy decisions in our favour that they get. Just the odd 50/50 like the disallowed palace goal.

I'm sure Rodgers had a go at a Manchester based ref a couple of years ago. To be fair they're doing nothing more than we did before the semi with Mike Riley and that worked out well.

I've got to the stage in life were I can't even be bothered arguing with them any more.

When my RS neighbor ( who watches every game in the ale house) or RS people in the office try to engage me, I just say 'I think you will win it this year', they never disagree and it sorts of steals their thunder.

Sad delusional beauts.

I thought that big support stanchion thing that is part of the biggest stand in the world ever, the one that obscures loads of seats in the Anfield Road end, was temporary.

As in, it would be removed when the AR end is developed.

I couldn't believe what I was reading, "give us a bob mate" utterly embarrassing.

That and the Yanks have just proved they have no interest in developing the football club beyond what will make them richer.

Hopefully they will stay for a long time and buy the like of Mane and Klavin every summer just to give that little bit of hope to the Norwegian massive, ultimately ending up were they started.

They will be like the kid in school with a hole in last years trousers when we get our new ground on the docks.

Their new stand looks like a Lidel as well.

I do the same to the three I work with. I can see it annoys them and they probably are planning to kill me.

Anyone else clock that bell on Sky Sports News this morning, who has a Liverpool Museum in his garage? A turnstile to move into a different area, and that God-awful mawdling anthem being piped through speakers on infinite repeat. What an absolute fruitbat. He's clearly not right and is a perfect example of the weirdos within that cult.

Oh, unsurprisingly, he's from Essex.
