mate we have won like 3 derbies in 10 years or something stupid.

some games you just stop expecting to win after a while.

I agree, our record is crap, but we have to change our mentality going into them.

Just hope that Koeman doesn't do what he's been doing against the so called better teams and that is park the bus, if he does, then I agree that we'll be on the end of a hiding.

The team does yeah, i don't :p

Too many derbies i have had my hopes up for and seen us get beat pretty much every time. just gets to a point where you stop caring about the game, hell the fact i watched us back in april just to see how bad we would be, rather than even think we could get a result?

What gets me is back in the 90s when we were actually crap we at least still turned up for it. It is the fact that over the past 10 years even as a minimum we have been so terrible in them which is what really gets me and has stopped me caring about the result anymore.

We've only won 3 in the league this Century.

Carsley derby in 2004
Johnson derby in 2006
Arteta/Cahill derby in 2010

And of course there was the Gosling goal in extra time in the FA Cup in 2009. But that wasn't in the league and wasn't over 90 minutes either.

that is my point yeah, a game we tend to bottle and lose far more than we should, i have stopped caring about the result. It really isn't the fact we lose them either, it is the way we lose them. The gerrard hat trick, the semi final, the two 4-0s, we just don't turn up for them like it is in our DNA, like we don't want to win.

I used to actually care, would be gutted after the final whistle but what is the point in feeling like that when the outcome seems to be more than likely to begin with?

Must say, I'm prepared for them to ruin my Christmas by beating us on the 19th December, but if we could somehow contrive to win it'd be a brilliant week leading into Crimbo ;)

Mine is already ruined due to working near enough the entirety of it so a derby defeat would be the stale icing, hope to god I'm wrong though

Be ace if we did what Burnley did to them (and us) though, just for added fume.

It'll be a bloody hard game either way, I'm still mortified we only drew against them when Brenda was on his way out and we were doing well. Not quite as bad as the reverse fixture though.

I think you'll find we'll get completely and utterly fisted if we come out and throw everyone forward and try to attack them.
