ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I don't know how a blue could have wanted us to hand that lot the title on a plate.
3 points against city is no big deal . Them winning the league would of been horrific. You only had to see how the press were acting towards them in the run in. It was unbearable. If they'd won it then it doesn't even bear thinking about how hard it would be to take .

The last 3 weeks of that season were worth all the stress and fear that they were maybe gonna do it.

Hand Liverpool the league on a silver platter and finish 5th, or lose and play our part in the most hilarious collapse football has ever seen and finish 5th?

Tough choice.

It all means nothing because of what happened next, mind:

I think anyone who wanted us to actually beat Man City that day is just short-sighted. If it actually affected us and could of changed our league position, then of course you'd want us to win because our success is more important than their failure, but that wasn't the case

Guaranteed if we actually beat City, they'd eventually admit they were wrong after hearing every day for years about Liverpool's glorious title win
