ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

It takes a lot longer for the media to turn on Liverpool managers, because most writers are kopite rats and ex-players. They'll only abandon ship when they're undergoing a serious bad patch

Yes it does, but the same process occurs. I remember what happened to dear old Rafael. Within a year old Solidarity marches they were chasing him out of the club. The turn came shortly after the "facts" rant. He had won the Champions League for them 4 years previously.

The media have a big role, and most football fans are idiots and let them set the agenda. The teams below Klopp are in great form and they have a difficult run, with increasing injuries and no Mane. A big game next week, I'll go as far as to say, if they get beat it will be a major dent to them. It feels a huge game and United will really fancy their chances.

I fully expect United to win. They've reached critical mass and the legs are starting to show. If they follow up with a loss to Chelsea soon after that, they're finished for this year

I think a loss to United will be pivotal mate. It will mean they will be closer to 5/6th than 1st. After such a strong start to the season it will kill them. Never mind United, managed by a far superior manager and stronger squad look well primed to kick on in the second half of the season. That leaves them competing with Arsenal, Spurs and City for 3rd. Arsenal always finish top 4. Then you have Liverpool, between 4th-6th. Solid but by no means spectacular and worthy of some of the self awarded platitudes.

I hope to God they finish outside of the top 4, that will be such a momentum killer. This is the key season for Klopp.

Next two games are key

hopefully Mourinho has the players playing as he wants and he has the tactical nous to turn them over. YOu're bang on about the momentum stuttering if they take a fall against Utd,

That was the one I noticed too. They did the same against Bournemouth.
Liverpool's ethos is to pressurise teams with their high-tempo pressing and attacking to a point where they want a team to capitulate.

Defensively however they're not all that and if a team stifles their play (see Burnley, Spurs and Manure) then they quite soon become unstuck.

Chelsea on the other hand have great attacking prowess that is backed up by a roughness defensive nature which means they see games out.

When things do not go his way then Klopp looks dumbfounded and the media darling he portrays himself as soon vanishes into the ether.

He's has all the characteristics and traits of a child - charismatic at times but also streaks of naivety and petulance.

Both nailed on penalties (and another "you see them given" hand balls went unpunished) the free kick leading up to the 2nd was a poor decision but if you can't beat a team who still have Oshea and Larson playing then you've no chance.

Hull drew with us due to a soft free kick awarded. It happens.
They had 10 minutes to find a winner, just as we had time to try and find 2 goals once Davies came on and turned the game in our favour.

They are vastly overated. A squad of athletes with a sprinkle of quality. Match their workrate and they are beatable.
We are a work in progress, but are showing signs of improvement with the emergence of Davies and hopefully Schneiderlin incoming.

I hope half the league pass them in the next 12 months.
