ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Scenes in the media when dinosaurs Mourinho and Wenger finish ahead of the managerial messiah Klopp. Seriously if he finishes outside the top 4 with no trophies again then pressure will be on. The rest of the big clubs don't tolerate that sort of return.
pressure is starting to build, results not coming their way, performances dropping, sliding down the table, big games to come that even if they win, they're still some way off the top. Oh and to cap it all, we may be catching them (if we keep going of course)

Klopp was their trump card. FSG thought that getting him in would solve everything and years of CL qualification would follow. Get that big stand up, into the top 4, and then the big sale to another party making them billions. If Klopp falls apart though and they come outside the top 4 they literally have nothing going for them to make an immediate improvement. Apart from Coutinho they have no saleable assets, players like Lallana Henderson Lovren won't be taken by top clubs and have little resale value. They don't have any quality coming out of the academy. At one point we had Stones Barkley and Lukaku all worth about 50 million, Liverpool don't have these sort of assets. Their owners are also not going to throw money at players to attract them (which is the only way without CL football). They're basically hoping that they land another Suarez to paper over the cracks in a long term decline that has been happening since 2009. They have relied on big individuals to gloss over a creaking infrastructure. Gerrard, Suarez, Coutinho, now Klopp, they've always had that one superstar whilst other clubs ploughed money into new stadiums, young talent or academies.

Chelsea United City won't stop, they'll spend more next year, Arsenal will always compete whilst Wenger is there. Liverpool hoping to moneyball their way there and rely on brand Anfield and their history just won't cut it.

If we build the new stadium we'd arguably be in a better position long term than them. We have a far better academy, local talent in the team already, and an owner seemingly willing to invest to get success.

After the next two cup games, both of which they have to win and don't look like winning on Wednesday, they then have to play

Chelsea
Hull away
Spurs
Leicester away
Arsenal
Burnley
Man City away
Everton

That list won't be easy, four 6point games in the CL battle, Hull fighting to stay up, 11 points maybe from that lot, they haven't even been able to strengthen this window, futures not as bright as they think, they need to develope another stand and give themselves something to celebrate

Be a boss season after all if they don't make top 4.

The 10 point gap at the top has me breathing a sigh of relief. Let's hope that the gap to Chelsea widens and the gap to us shortens in the coming weeks. Really embarrass them after their title win in November.

Next game Ash is Chelsea at home. Chelsea win that and they are 13 points behind. If we win the following day we would be just 6 points behind.

Easier said than done both scenarios as I can see them beating Chelsea and I think Stoke away is a tough match for us but I ain't ruling us out really putting a long unbeaten run together and putting pressure on the scruffs and the mancs
