Re: Gerrard back as Academy Coach

Imagine being a young Dele Alli and knowing that if you move to the Liverpool Academy, you will get coached by Stevie everyday..

This could give us pulling power in the short term and 10 or 15 years later when Jurgen retires, Stevie steps in..

======================================================

Hahaha.....the naivety of them never ceases to amuse. As if ambitious greedy arse would wait 10-15 years. Memo to RS (duly noted by Herr Klopp)...he already has stepped in.

or they could have just bought him for £5m instead of blowing £20m on Horrenduson or £20m on Markevic etc etc

They've been playing rubbish for ages. Should be put of the league cup and played terribly both games v Plymouth. They also hung on against both Manchester sides hit then spun the media to make out they bettered them. TBH for 70 minutes they were dog turd against us. This result has been coming, the wheels are falling off. The premier league has adapted to Klopps football and he has no plan B when kick and rush doesn't work.

Said it a few months into the season, their squad is utter tosh, all attack orientated and unbalanced. They bought wijnaldum who only shined in an advanced role for newcastle and play him in a defensive role.

I mentioned it from the start, you can't continue this high press game over here for a full season, especially not with a squad as small as theirs, there's no winter break to help klopp and the game isn't as slow as it is in germany. And although the quality of the top teams isn't as good, the quality throughout the league makes it tougher overall. They only play one way, which is narrow down the middle, no real plan b .... yet they go and have the audacity to blame united for the one thing which they need to add to their game.

they've only lost one game that they should have won, a slip up sure, but it doesn't mean they have all of a sudden been found out and we will catch them in a matter of weeks. A draw at old Trafford which they almost won is a very decent result and we didn't beat Swansea at home either so not sure we cant laugh too much!

I can't help it. They get themselves in such a state after winning a few games that when the balloon bursts it's absolutely impossible to stop yourself from pointing at them and laughing hysterically.

people's assertion is based on more than that one game tbf. They didn't threaten united at all, scored from a pen from an unforced error. People have always stated how their defence is why they won't win the title because they wouldn't be able to keep up all that pressing for 90 mins every game and therefore wouldn't hit 4 against every team. Last few games, their performance levels seem to have dropped significantly because of the build up of games. They're only scoring from set plays it seems now and that defence is still just as leaky.

If they didn't award themselves the league title every November then the entire football fan base of every other club wouldn't laugh at these individual slip ups so hard.

Every season the same, they get up for a few big games and all of a sudden it's 'rampant reds' 'best football in the prem' 'no team can live with us' 'favourites for the league'. Fans of far better teams don't behave this way, some Chelsea fans I know still are worried they'll throw it away. Why a club that hasn't won this trophy for over 2 decades keep prematurely celebrating is beyond me, and that's why everyone laughs at them. If they showed even a shred of humility it wouldn't nearly be as fun to troll them but they can't even manage that.

It's not just us who hate them, honest.

In polls they constantly emerge as the most disliked club-fans in the Prem.

This last Stevie G Laaaaaaaa, nonsense is a prime example of how they just 'don't get it'.

Being a club legend is nowhere near enough to guarantee results - for every Dalglish Mk1 (plus great side) or George Graham there's a Shearer, Alan Ball or Bobby Charlton or a Souness and any number of failures at Man City - in fact the vast majority of great managers were rather ordinary footballers (or even in the case of the likes of CL winners like Benitez and Mourinho hardly a footballer at all).

What might distinguish a footballer on the pitch (and with Gerrard it's a moot point anyway whether he was anything more than a club legend) doesn't make a great manager (and if the Kopites want evidence - Shankly was decent, Paisley and Evans were gash, Souness was great player but a very ordinary manager, Benitez, Houllier, Hodgson and Rodgers nothing (or even less) as footballers, Klopp an ordinary footballer). So, let's see Mr No-Brains trying to get that extra 10% out of players who don't give as much as he thought he did for the RS.. and how he reacts when it doesn't happen.. it might work at the U23 level with lots of impressionable (and one supposes half-decent) kids but the PL will be a different ball game. He's going to be another Sound-as-a-Pound Aldo getting nasty with the failures - he'll lose the dressing room in 12 months and then what will happen to his RS Legend Status?

They haven't won many games they should have won either, Bournmouth, West Ham, Sunderland, Plymouth even Southampton away in the cup, all games they'd expect to win.

It's not the results though, it's the performances.

It's been obvious for a few weeks that they've settled down to what I'd class as normal form for them. Earlier on in the season they played well but it was them in a good patch playing above themselves.

Normal service resumed now for last years 8th placed side, not much has changed from that, maybe a spot or 2 higher in the league but they haven't been subject to a mass overhaul like us for example.
