ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

They could always blame Chelsea.

"Chelsea were fined £300,000 and given a suspended three-point deduction.

Arsenal defender Cole was handed a £100,000 fine, while Blues manager Jose Mourinho will have to pay £200,000.

All three were said to have breached league rules by secretly meeting, without Cole's club knowing, at a London restaurant on 27 January".

So from what I can gather it looks like they'll walk away without so much as a slap on the wrist.

In all honesty I can hardly blame the premier league or FA, imagine the self pity that would ensue if they were given a ban or some other punishment, although I wish either of them would grow a pair and do something.

Imagine if they were punished, the victim card would be laid right on the table, not sure I could take it.
They bring nothing but shame on my great City and I can never ever forgive them for it.
Ashamed of nothing, offended by everything

What I don't get is the self-incrimination "we have ended our interest..."
Just had a glance at the Echo 'shambles' article and the comments are gold dust.

One comment on RAWK actually blamed Southampton for the whole mess. Obviously such clubs should have a deferential, forelock-tugging attitude to the aristocracy of the Premier League as embodied by LFC. I should not be surprised by their delusionality but over and over again, you'd think they were the Henry VIII of football. The Divine Right of Kings has become the Divine Right of Liverpool FC.
