Only going to need one Ryan Shawcross tackle to upset their season.

BTW - is the new special commemorative kit £18.92 or £125 then?

Been an Evertonian long enough to spot a fake bid designed to dupe the fans mate ;)

The VVD thing - they where never ever gonna pay what was needed to get him, so pulled that crap to wreck the deal. Because they couldn't actually afford him

Koulibaly - obviously not any genuine bid for the player - an absurd offer considering the situation

Keita - loads of talk about him then his valuation was leaked out to the media and sicne then not a single word about 'their number one priority)

Salah - messing around on the bid for an insane period of time, given that Roma have to sell and raise 40m to comply to FFP - this was a very very easy deal to sort for them, instead they are delaying it as much as the possible can do, all that gives is the chance for someone else to come in for the player or alternatively a chance for another Roma player to be sold instead (say Manolas) who would raise the 40m needed and then remove any need for Roma to sell Salah, Roma pull out the rs say they tried but Roma didn't want to sell in the end etc

At the end of the summer - look at who they stated where priority targets for them and who they end up getting and IF those other players did end up moving elsewhere and for how much and it will tell a ,lot about FSG and their real ambitions and willingness to spend

Loads of still think they are going to get all 4 including bidding over 75 for VVD. Something has to give this window that's for sure.

Salah isn't awful and will do well against the lower half teams but will struggle against the bigger sides. Even in the less than mediocre Italian league most of his goals came against the smaller sides.

He's ok. Not as important to the teams as any of our three signings and not worth £40m. And tbh I can see Roma screwing them out of even more than that given how desperate they are to keep up with thei nouveau riche neighbours.

Not totally awful but struggles against the better teams and will never be a key player. Overpaid by about 10-15m

meanwhile some sourced rs reckoned they had a 90m budget before sales...

and they estimated around 120-130m total spend possible - as frankly they have almost ran out of saleable players who arent integral to the squad now

something doesn't add up now does it lol

Leaking that they'll spend 200 million could be a big mistake. I also think there's something very suspect and cringey of them making public bids for VVD and Mbappe. If they sign them for 175 million then I'll eat my words, but I can't help but feel it's all one big game for them.

The actual reports where from sources like Joyce etc, 90m mate, the 200m figure was from journos who took the original story and exaggerated upon it one after another till it got to the absurd 200m that is now accepted as norm

You mention Keita mate and you wouldn't believe it but in the local rs rag is a report that Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow in signing Keita as Leipzig gave been cleared to play CL football even though Liverpool were willing to go up to 50m for him lol

They are desperate to be relevant, desperate to still make out like they are one of the big boys.

They lap up the crap spouted by the local press.

how exactly is salah any different to the other 4 players they have? mane, coutinho, firmino and lallana (tbf, i could include wijnaldum in that too, as that's his best position, but they shohorn him in deeper).

Shouldn't they be off spending money replacing their average keeper and dire centre and left backs? And actually buying some good centre mids?

The VVD one I see a bit differently; they were staggered the lad had potentially agreed to join them and couldn't wait to broadcast to the world that they were still relevant. My memory gets hazy with the crazy ones but sure the press release spoke more about the fact that he'd agreed to join them over other named teams, Chelsea, City? Why do that before the window has opened and he hasn't actually signed anything because you haven't even got permission to speak to him?

The simple fact that escaped them was that they were already under a suspension for illegal player approaches - didn't stop them doing it mind you - but the fact that their media team were so desperate to release some feel good story proves there true irrelevance. I just watch and wonder when the rest of the world catch on that they ain't great, they ain't special & that they are stain on the game that has been tolerated for far too long. Maybe I see their actions with less tolerance than most, but I'm sensing that view is shared by an increasing number of football fans.

I beg to differ,he played well against both juve and milan near the end of the season.

Oont think he will do well in England though...all he has is speed.

Why are they so excited? Who does Salah replace? Mane? Countinho? He's not designed to play central so won't be replacing Firmino or origi.

Squad depth. They are going to need it next season when they get knocked out the Champions League.

I don't know why we don't hijack this deal. We have more money than them and could use a pacy winger. He is better than what we have at the moment, so spend the money.
