Echo are getting a little desperate about the lack of transfer activity across the park at our lovable neighbours. They are running a story about two 'new' signings at meleiid this week...mane and Henderson returning from injury.
If it wasn't for it being Walsh who wrote that - I'd have penned it as a blue trolling them.
So far - they haggled to the last and ended up having to basically pay what Roma wanted in effect for Salah - a player who failed last time he played in this league - but is now world class apparently
They nicked a kid from Chelsea - who is now brilliant because he scored a few goals in a junior international tournament (as did DCL but no blue is raving on him)
They bid without bidding on VVD, leaked he only wanted to play for them due to realising they couldn't match Saints asking price and when Saints called them on their tactic they made it clear they would not pursue the player again - giving them a nice convenient excuse to not have to sp[end that amount of money on a player - when he does move clubs - watch them spin it as a show of class and dignity that they didn't try to enter the race for him again. Although their mouthpieces in the media are still trying the exact same tactics that could have gotten them a transfer ban if Saints had pursued it - maybe to just ensure Saints stay pissed off enough at them that their excuse will hold-up.
They 'bid' - again without actually submitting a bid on Keita - yet again another player who has made it 'clear' he 'will only play for Liverpool' - at a club with no need to sell, with an owner and manager who have issued time and again that they will not sell this summer any major player no matter the price - but apparently Liverpool think they can sign him - so talk of them bidding 50m, then 70m all for a player they know they cannot actually sign this summer as rb Leipzing won't sell - but they tried it was those damn Germans who wouldn't let the player go.
NOW apparently - such is the spending power and allure of their club, Real Madrid are getting on the phone to them asking them if they want Rodriguez, BUT and a big BUT here - Liverpool are supposedly unwilling to match what Madrid are touting him around for price wise, ofc he won't sign for them - and this will be Madrid being unreasonable not Liverpool not willing to pay money for a player.
In short they are a sell to buy club, who have no chance on earth of spending what types of money is required for the players their fans demand they are linked too
