Disgusting, the Echo and anyone who donates.
Once again they brought shame on my great City. Horrific scenes that belong in the 70,s and 80,s.

definitely. Those who donated will be a bunch of sad kopites who think they should be praised for throwing a few punches at united fans, nailed on.

That is a whole new level of bitter, i must say.

Are the Echo messing here?! They're promoting a fundraising page for the Liverpool fans that got sent to prison.

They've admitted the offence!!

I detest that rag of a paper and that club's fans. Pathetic.

One of them is carl Irvine as well , very well known amongst them but best known for kicking a united fan unconscious as he lay on the floor . Obviously he did it mobhanded.

Reports in Spain saying Coutinho is staying and he's told Klopp he doesn't want to go,seems the Barca press were making up stories up about club officials flying to London to do a deal when those club officials were flying to America at the time.

Not sure how they are going to fund the Keita bid with the worrying money problems and massive debt they have though.

How can we trust these new 'reports' when the last 'reports' are supposed to be false.....

I wouldn't particularly disagree but the article doesn't exactly go in hard on either the fans nor those fund raising . It could easily use harsher language to describe events or those involved , even take an editorial position .

It's violence in a footy stadium for which people have been imprisoned , in this particular story at least the echo doesn't for example use this quote “the worst disorder Greater Manchester Police has seen inside a football stadium in 18 years”.

Here's the kind of language it uses when talking about a fight between an Evertonian and a Newcastle fan "This is the clash between football hooligans that led to two Everton fans being banned from matches." , " The shocking footage captures the moment violence flared in a pub" and The article uses the word "yob". I've looked but hooligan and yob don't seek to feature in that article and I'll be honest I don't think it's a mistake . It's that paper pandering to its audience .

Might be with the Chinese money, mate.

I'd expect, at least to an extent, that his potential departure to Barca will be intrinsically linked to whether Neymar leaves this summer or not.

And to that extent the talk of Mbappé may also play a part; it's the old transfer dominoes where one move can cause a flurry of other transfers.

Liverpool spending seventy odd million quid without bringing in revenue from departures doesn't fit their current model of frugality.

On another note, I heard some whopper on Talk Sport talking up Klopp to the level of Shankly - a direct bloody comparison. I just laughed!

Skint.

Sell to Buy.
God, I would love it to be true! Yet, the simple reason for their limitations is because of the business model their owners have chose to follow.

You would expect that Liverpool as a a brand and business would be able to gain/borrow any necessary capital to pay for Keita if they wanted.

However, their board instead follow a model where they look to make an eventual profit and as such any expenditures is met by fans or income.

Let's not grumble as it'll ultimately cap their ability to match their major rivals who look far more willing to spend; the ol' speculate to accumulate.

Looks like any chance they ever had of winning the Premier League has disappeared. If they couldn't win it when they were consistently in the top 2/3 spenders, there's no chance of them winning it for the foreseeable. Shame really. Still, they dared to dream.

FSG spent big money on the Red Sox this year. Bad that they can't spend on the Reds but such is life.
