ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Apparently Rs fans pay for "premium content" on the Echo website. I see their writers have take the Keita situation as well as can be expected.

I can imagine heads will roll in the echo offices when they look into why it's acceptable to accuse another team of being nazis, especially a German one. That column must have passed through multiple editors before going live.

If you followed a club who's fans slaughtered 39 people would you pipe up about other clubs being hated?

We ban the Sun for the ridiculous lies they print, but the echo is just as bad.

Liverpool newspaper sparks outrage after comparing RB Leipzig to the Nazis for not selling Naby Keita

For a newspaper so front and centre in pillorying that other offensive and lying rag , which deserves all its gets by the way, you'd think it'd have some self awareness.

That is a deeply offensive article , once more like so many of its articles it's designed to pander to its core support. All the stick the RS Echo is going to get over this it deserves. I look forward to them falling in their bid to get away from what they've said .

The irony of this lot calling any club Nazis when they conducted an ethnic bar on transfer policies until the 1980s, blitzkrieg'd round Europe like a bunch of Visigoths, and actually made kits out of confiscated Nazi flags they picked up in a tour of Germany after WW2.

How has that been published?
That is spectacularly bad.

Just reading passages from "Heysel: The Truth". That team of theirs dont come out of it well either.

A story recounted in that book of the family of dead physician Roberto Lorenti walking numbed through Brussels the day after and coming across the LFC bus. They started banging on the side of the coach in anger and the Liverpool players were laughing at them.

Stay classy Liverpool.

RIP Liverpool Echo.

How on Earth that has got through editing and been published is just beyond comprehension.
Looks like they've gone the same direction with their lot as they have with us. The Echo dont get that much official comments off the clubs now, or interviews and special features to carry, so they just hand back to fans who are still mugs enough to read the Echo what they themselves post on their unofficial forums.

You can see that quite clearly with their coverage of Everton: an embarrassing hotch potch of abusing players who have fallen foul of the mob mentality and going OTT about the club owner, and using fan terminology like "Everton that" and "the most Everton thing ever".

What a hideous bunch they are. Why dont they just pack it in and sweep the streets?

All the outrage seems to be about the Nazi part of that article but the African part was a lot worse imo. I'll try and find it...

"Guinea is one of those places you are vaguely aware exists but you could never imagine yourself visiting. A bit like Goodison.

“It is the world's second-largest producer of bauxite. I will let you know which country is the largest producer of bauxite just as soon as I find out what bauxite is.

“Guinea is of course in Africa, just above Sierra Leone and just below £1.06p. It doesn't strike me as a hotbed of football. In 2014 there was an outbreak of Ebola in Guinea which led the government to ban the sale and consumption of bats, so I suspect it's no longer a hotbed of cricket either.”
