ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

35 million is cheap as chips in the current market for a player of his ability.

The RS are amassing a group of very technically gifted players. Going forward their midfield/attack is as good as anything. Their defence is bobbins though.

He's ok and pads out the squad but what he is not is 'cheap as chips'. He's inconsistent, had one year left on his contract and is injured almost as much as Sturridge. He is also going to cost £40m and not £35m.

Bit of a panic buy to replace Coutinho imo.

I'm not even sure it's that. I think Klopp is trying to bolster his attacking options to counter how he tires them out and with no Lemar it's Plan C.

Personally, I think Coutinho will now stay for another season but all this talk of 'stress related injuries' coming from Brazil, it could all go a bit sour.

Heard a believable rumour that Barca 'signed' Low Phil two weeks ago on the understanding that Liverpool would recruit before announcing it, and he wouldn't play another game for fear of being injured and the cheeky reds could recruit at a sensible rate rather than being known for being brewsteed on Phils sizeable fee.

believable to me

Ox is a good buy.

He's english, young,PL proven and can play across the midfield and on the wings, classic utility player or maybe a long term Lallana replacement.

Guardiola tried to buy him last summer,Conte and Klopp this summer, those 3 managers see something in him that Wenger hasn't.

His injuries come from Wenger's insistence at bringing players back early from injury and creating a cycle of injuries, the sports science at that club is from the 1990's that Wenger is still abides by.Plus he is a classic british box to box #8 with his attributes of power pace dribbling passing, but Wenger curtailed his development playing him as wide player which he has done with Walcott and Ramsay.

Dont kid yourself
I'm not. Are you telling me that Hull's left back and Oxlade Chamberlain are world class? Man Utd have signed Matic and Lukaku, if the RS had signed them, plus a keeper and a centre half I would be worried. As it is they will be the same as last year. When naive teams like Arsenal play open and dwell on the ball they will thrash them. When well organised teams come to their place and sit deep they will draw/lose games as they haven't addressed their defensive flaws. Also, their style of play means they will have injuries/fatigue in the 2nd half of the season. They will finish somewhere between 3rd and 6th.

No mate, what he was is a promising English player, who hasn't developed into the superstar it looked like he would. Similar to Walcott, only with less pace.

Got a bad feeling they have held vvd off to be anounced today.
Thats why the ox all got done yesterday, can see a massive fan fare over it.
VVD was training at Southampton yesterday, albeit on his own. That private jet at Liverpool airport that got the RS fans so excited didn't have VVD in it.

Who mentioned world class ??? Oxlade chamberlain would walk into our starting 11 every week..... Salah would too... and I fully expect van dijk to be signed up before the window shuts today. ... that's brilliant by anybodies standards.

Don't think Ox would as wants to play in middle according to press which is why he is going to Liverpool not Chelsea. Would Ox play in middle for us?

Oxlade Chamberlain is no better than Mirallas. Salah it remains to be seen, he has potential but is another fast midfielder to go with all their other fast midfielders. Van Dijk I rate highly but he hasn't signed for them yet. I still don't see that they've improved the balance of their team.

That's Wenger for you.

As i alluded to he should have been a #8 box to box midfielder but Wenger played him wide as he has a obsession with turning natural central midfielders and strikers into wide players,Ljungberg Wiltort Welbeck Ozil Wallcott Ox Ramsay Parlour off the top of my head were all central players before Wenger got hold of them.

I remember Walcott playing CF for England away at Croatia and scoring a fantastic hat trick,he's another player who wenger has destroyed, when walcott did get a run of games at CF he would score goals for fun until Wenger would put him back wide when RVP came back from another injury, the guy was a striker in the mold of Villa and Owen, small nimble quick finisher.

Wenger is a dinosaur and has destroyed 3 fantastic English talents in Wiltshire Ox and Walcott with their development and his poor training methods where training sessions are just not at high intensity for the match day which creates niggling muscles injuries in games, and to top it off his sports science 20 years behind now.

Ox has just turned 24,he still has time to develop into a top player with a manager who seems to be good at that.
