ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

That's Wenger for you.

As i alluded to he should have been a #8 box to box midfielder but Wenger played him wide as he has a obsession with turning natural central midfielders and strikers into wide players,Ljungberg Wiltort Welbeck Ozil Wallcott Ox Ramsay Parlour off the top of my head were all central players before Wenger got hold of them.

I remember Walcott playing CF for England away at Croatia and scoring a fantastic hat trick,he's another player who wenger has destroyed, when walcott did get a run of games at CF he would score goals for fun until Wenger would put him back wide when RVP came back from another injury, the guy was a striker in the mold of Villa and Owen, small nimble quick finisher.

Wenger is a dinosaur and has destroyed 3 fantastic English talents in Wiltshire Ox and Walcott with their development and his poor training methods where training sessions are just not at high intensity for the match day which creates niggling muscles injuries in games, and to top it off his sports science 20 years behind now.

Ox has just turned 24,he still has time to develop into a top player with a manager who seems to be good at that.
I just think he was physically very developed which made him seem better than he was at a very young age. He just isn't very good. I usually panic when they sign anyone but I was delighted when they spunked £40m on him.

Oxlade Chamberlain is no better than Mirallas. Salah it remains to be seen, he has potential but is another fast midfielder to go with all their other fast midfielders. Van Dijk I rate highly but he hasn't signed for them yet. I still don't see that they've improved the balance of their team.
Come on.... you're having a laugh

Am I? Their problems last year were that they couldn't defend, when Coutinho was missing they didn't have a player who could thread a final ball, their left full back position was weak, their centre halves and in fact the whole team in general couldn't defend as a unit, and their keepers were suspect. Would you like to tell me how their signings have solved these problems?

I never said they would. .. I said the signings they have made have been great business. Ox will be a great signing... vault me next year... I'll be happy to be wrong

So let me get this straight, they had multiple problems to solve, their signings have solved none of these problems, but they've had a great transfer window?

Stop talking wet...... I said the business they have done ....the players I mentioned they have brought in..... they have been good buys. If you're too bitter and blinkered to admotivate that it's up to you.

Buying a player in a position in which you already have too many players is not good business. In the same way that Koeman has accumulated too many slow midfielders. If we had signed Salah and they had signed Keane and Siggurdson it would have been good business. However they have bought 2 unnecessary show ponies instead of strengthening their defence and goalkeeper.

OK. ...so by you're reasoning if Liverpool signed Messi it would be bad business because they already have players in that position. OK mate

No because Messi can unlock a defence. It's not just the position it's the type of player. And quality wise is Salah better than Mane? Is Oxlade Chamberlain better than Lallana?

End of the day/transfer window they've replaced Lucas and Coutinho with Salah and the Ox. It's difficult to see that as an upgrade with even the most optimistic of kopite eyes.
