Could you imagine what it would have been like if it had been someone like Costa who had done that, all those same bellends would have wanted him jailed.
Few of them on my Facebook today putting up photos of the twin towers with the liver birds either side of them and the heading America, you'll never walk alone. Am I being really biased here or is that in really poor taste?
Wonder if the FA will have the balls to extend the ban because surely it should be classed as a frivolous appeal.
So 1 game ban it will be then.
You jest, but I think the incident in the Newcastle game may play in their favour. Whilst not as bad, it was close enough to Mane's for there to be some debate about the inconsistency amongst referees on similar incidents. Hopefully however the FA rule that it was in fact the yellow that was the incorrect ruling, not the red.
Also I definitely missed the FA memo, but are all straight red cards now automatic three game bans? Or only the ones deemed "violent conduct"? For instance, are professional fouls, last man etc only one match bans?
Straight Reds are 3 games. Unless it wasnt, under the rules, a straight Red.
But it was.
The Yellow for Ritchie (?) should have been Red.

Thanks for clearing that up. In that the case there's no grounds for the RS to appeal, it was a red and that's the minimum ban. Thems the rules kids.
Is there any precedent for the FA reducing (rather than simply overturning) a ban from a red card? Hopefully it's dismissed as a frivolous appeal and another game is added on. I do always wonder if the side appealing has some private (informed illegally) inkling that it may go in their favour though... I mean why would you chance appealing, knowing you could get further punishment, unless you had a feeling it would go your way.
Graeme Poll on Talk sport earlier saying its pathetic people are saying it's not a red, and no chance Liverpool will appeal because if they do they will probably get another game added on, let's hope so
True, he was saying the FA should look at is as dangerous play regardless of if the player is injured or not or what his intent was.Hopefully that's the case. However both Clattenburg and Halsey both said they would have only issued a yellow which says to me their may be people of a similar view and subsequently sympathetic to the appeal. Hopefully the FA aren't wishy washy.
Clatters would have booked the keeper and given the RS a penalty.Hopefully that's the case.
