Klopp will soon reach an awkward decision point. They’re not going to challenge for the league and will struggle in a scrap for a CL spot (City Spurs are by far the best two, United and Chelsea look stronger than Arsenal and Liverpool). Their fans will want to go all in for a CL win though. Klopp is going to have to choose between potentially saving his job by concentrating on just getting 4th and throwing the cups or going for the silverware the fans want but knowing that if he misses 4th and doesn’t win the CL he could well be fired and Mane Coutinho etc are gone with no CL. You get the feeling that Klopps experiment is now going to either work wonders or crash and burn horrifically. A third season without a trophy especially with no CL would surely see him fired, it would at any proper big club.

Hmmm think Salah is overrated and Sigurdsson is slightly underrated.

Was never that keen on Iceland coming here really, especially for that price. But he's performed better than it's being portrayed. He's just the escape goat.

Let's have looks at some facts and figures for even greater clarity.

Siggy's passing is over 80% (if this includes free kicks then it's even more impressive).
Salah's is languishing in the low 70s.

Key passes per game are 1.7 for Siggy and 1.5 for Speedy Mo.

Not because Mo is trying adventurous balls either, both attempt less than one long ball per game.

When you factor in the fact Salah is a 'pace player' this allows him to receive the ball in space, making him far less likely tobe instantly crowded out, making Iceland's stats look better in comparison.

Siggy is dispossessed 0.9 times a game, The Egyptian is dispossessed two and a half times that amount (2.3pg).

Siggy mis-controls the ball just 1.1 times a game. Salah mis-controls it an astonishing 3.2 times a game. Again the fact Iceland is receiving the ball in tighter spots than the pace merchant is quite telling.

I knew what i was seeing but very gratifying having incontrovertible facts to verify it.

So I've concluded from this that actually, you do think Gylfi Sigurdsson is better than Mohamed Salah.

There clearly isn't a gulf in class is there?

To clarify what are you saying? Salah is Garrincha reincarnated and Siggy is a less mobile Claus Thomsen?

I'm saying that the important stats as well as mine and everyone else's eyes show us that Salah is clearly good and Sigurdsson is in fact very very poor.

Did you notice what stats he didn’t include? Goals and assists. Interesting that isn’t it.

Price didn’t seem to be a factor either. Or the fact one player is supposedly a Chelsea flop who hasn’t proven anything and only performed in Mickey Mouse leagues, as opposed to a “proven” premier league player who seemingly needs time to adapt (zero goals and zero assists in the league).
