ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Fair really, as I said "sort of".

Not sure if he did have a (good) through ball last time out. He does however have 2 assists and free kicks have been decent but we don't have anyone to aim for sadly.

Defo think he'll get better as we improve confidence.

For a £45m playmaker it's quite remarkable how scared he looks of even trying a creative pass. You can't say it's because there's nothing ahead of him, because the likes of Lookman, Davies, Rooney have had no problem in recent weeks threading a ball into a striker. It concerns me.

Salah on the other hand creates about 5 chances a game and has scored 12 goals in 17 games. If you could do me a swap right now, I'd gladly oblige.

He didn't pick his prize, we were mugs for going in for him like we did. Honestly pointless to point the finger at him for the price paid by the club, like.

Is it money well spent right this second? No.
Can he come good? Yes.
Same goes for Klaassen and Sandro, but since we're giving no time to anyone as we're blue kopites - whatever, sack everyone, sack Unsworth, dissolve the team.

After looking at the list of SteveO posts on his profile page, i’m convinced he’s a WUM, a very large percentage of his posts are on this thread too and the rest of his ‘opinions’ seem to scream ‘wind up’ to me. Constantly says the opposite to what we all know and see to get a rise. I urge people to have a look and tell me differently.

Seeing as that's a dead link, I am telling you differently.

If we include WC & EL qualifiers than Siggy has 5 goals and two assists. It's not quite as bad as people are making out.

You also have to factor in the fact he's been played in about 11 different positions this year with about 1,000 different team mates.

I haven't just made this up either. I've supplied facts. The speedster mis-controls the ball three times as many times as the Iceman and he is dispossessed 2.5 times more.

Facts. Not opinion. I wish it was different as being wrong occasionally would keep me humble but there it is, in black and white.

So if we talk about what he’s done for Everton (I do not care about Iceland) it’s 1 goal and two assists. The one goal coming in one of the qualifying rounds as well. Once again I ask, who has more goals and assists for their club?

I tried to think like you in the summer. When debating the merits of Sigurdsson i and other posters suggested that his stats where definitely inflated by set pieces and a Swansea team playing a lot of their football through him and Llorente. Those legitimate points where countered with “oh so set piece goals don’t count do they” and “assists from free kicks don’t count either”. Well ok then, let’s simplify it right down - how many goals and assists does our maestro have for us?

Perhaps it is actually redundant to compare two very different players with differing skill sets. But in debating who has had more of an impact and been more effective for their respective side, there isn’t even a debate to be had- miscontroles and all that included.

Why do you bother?

Bizarre.

Ah your go to line when you’re wrong. I could ask you the same question. We’re all a bit bitter but you’d rather make yourself look like a total idiot than concede that it looks like we signed a bit of a dud for more money than a so called (in your words) Vauxhall conference player. All because he plays in red. If he played for any other club in the league I’m certain your opinion would change. There’s supporting your team and then there’s being completely blinkered for reasons only you know why.

It would be nice if we could move away from the very Moyesian us against them vibe which has defined our club and fanbase for far too long now. Part of that is the ability to be objective about a club we should have been able to catch up with this summer instead of going backwards and further away from.

Pot calling kettle.
