ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Last season Leicester got £73m for reaching the last 8 and Arsenal got £58m for reaching the last 16. So there is still plenty of money to be earned from the CL. It will also make it easier for them when recruiting players.

I think the top 4 will go right down the wire this season.
Not another post supporting the cult, I am surprised.

I quoted a post that said they hoped RS got into the Champions League. I listed reasons why it would be better if they didn't qualify. Yet you have taken that as my post somehow supporting the RS.
No you didn’t list reasons why it would be better if they didn’t, you listed reasons stating why it would be a positive for them.

Unfortunately they will stay in the top 4. City apart, there's a lot of fragilities in most teams in the league, meaning that the likes of "SKY SIX!", United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal can all have blow ups in the league. Liverpool however tend to only have those blow ups in one off matches, the others can have them for a short run of games.

Of course we can all hope that the RS are tiring, and that they hit a slump, and get picked off, but I wouldn't put money on it. If recent history has told us anything, if you want to find a team with a major slip in them, then they are the one to watch.

Long may the non-City top six be at each others' throats, as it will mean another team has a chance of a sniff at the top 6 positions. I do hope that is us under a suitable manager with a balanced squad full of quality next season...

Their stunning 2-0 victory against a team in the relegation zone has really pepped them up.....next year lads, next year.
Jeez, isn't that boring yet. Only thing certain next year is Liverpool will still finish above Everton.
I am looking forward to the derby, Fat Sam needs to be brought back to reality soon. Can't have him draw two games against Liverpool in a season.

It was boring two decades ago. They still say it though.

The absolute mutants.

You’re a kopite

Do you have a problem understanding how a debate works. I disagreed with a post that stated that he didn't mind the RS qualifying for the Champions.

For me that is crazy why would we want our main rival to get the best part of £40-75m extra in income. Why would we want our main rival to have the carrot of Champions League money when they are looking to sign players in the summer.

We should be looking at who we have the best chance of catching if we get our house in order. At least 4 of the clubs are going to get a huge windfall. I think from our point of view that the two clubs that are most dependant on that money are the RS and Spurs. They need the CL to keep the likes of Salah and Kane happy and they also need the money. The Redshites owners are looking to build revenues to fund the Club and Spurs are really vulnerable at the moment because of the huge amount of money they need to fund their hugely expensive Stadium.

Of the others Chelsea and City are funded by rich owners whilst United have ridiculous levels of commercial income. So a slice of the £1.3bn CL money is less relevant. Then you have Arsenal where Kroenke doesn't really invest but usually creams off money from the Club.

So from our point of view the best outcome would be the two Manchester clubs plus Chelsea and Arsenal. Chelsea won last night and Arsenal are always capable of getting on a role and flat track bullying the fodder.

As I said in my first post I can see it going down to the wire. It is really tight and a few injuries could really derail the RS.

They aren’t even carrying a single injury yet Porto as usual are without key players. Their squad has no depth at all yet they’ve carried themselves through the entire season on 3 players (2 now Coutinho has gone). Unbelievable fortune as usual when you consider key players pthervtop clubs have missing.

They only go and spunk it on players like Ricky Lambert ,mate. I was brought up on them winning leagues and being relevant. They used to laugh at the likes of Arsenal for celebrating a top 4 finish like a trophy won yet they have become that club.
