ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The Salah song isn't necessarily racist.

It is massively, massively cringey though. Not even joking, when they sing ship like that it makes me embarrassed that we're from the same city.
It's a song that even the Old Trafford teds would've rejected for being too corny.
I don’t think anyone thinks it is racist, but the notion they are using religion as a form of expression isn’t lost in its complete irony.

Gone next January at the latest to a big club....that's if he actually sustains this form and it isn't just a flash in the pan and he gets found out and how to be relatively easily neutralised.

I look at Salah and struggle to understand how defenders fail to contain him. He doesn't have quick feet and exceptional balance like, say, a Hazard, he's just quick and can use his physique to hold off a player or brush past them and get a shot off.

Anyway, either way, he wont be a force for Liverpool over the long term.

Because there's no good defenders in the league except spurs and Chelsea's centre backs. Try and name a Premier league best back 4 and you have to consider utter dross like walker, Rose and average wingers like valencia, young and moses.

I cant understand why anyone is trying to make out the song is racist, the player and various others have said its fine so why the faux outrage ? There are all colours of Muslims some posters on here are determined to see offence when there quite clearly isn't any, [Poor language removed] song OK but not racist so stop trying to be offended on others behalf it makes you look delusional.

Not sure anyone cares about your thoughts mate

Have I just seen the word 'delusional' being used by a RS about Everton fans? Next year is our year, final piece of the jigsaw, and all that.

That Salah song to me is just a cringey, misguided attempt at "oh what's unique about this player" and latching onto it for a dumb song.

It could be seen as insensitive for the insincerity of "I'll join a religion cause this guy I like is part of it" but I dont think anyone is even taking them seriously.

And even if they were, I'd imagine the thinking would be "at least their following the right path/they'll understand the proper reasons for worship in time". Harmless, if lame, gesture from their fans.
