ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Tough draw but it's one they can win make no mistake. I'll never write them off because they have a deal with the devil and superior teams always bottle it when they play them at Anfield, including City this season. Thankfully however Vin Dijk hasn't stopped the goals going in at all, so City will definitely score probably home and away.

City just need to keep their star players fit and they should have enough. Guardiola won't look to rest players in the league games I don't think because he won't want to lose any rhythm, they are absolute clockwork at the moment.

Pep won't be bothered. Liverpool are 'an occasion' team... a derby... a game v United etc... Pep will know they will come at City line a speed train at anfield. . Nullify that for 20 minutes and they start to get frustrated... 2nd half ..rinse and repeat... nullify their plan A and they don't have a plan B

Sky really are shameful, they’re practically LFC sponsored propaganda rather than a neutral national broadcaster.

They definitely saw something the rest of the league didn't when they caught on to the pundit train early and started sending off their ex players in the direction of media. They now get so much more coverage than they deserve and that enables them to retain their big club image when evidently they are small potatoes. The way sky cover them is embarrassing.

It's all fun and games until they're 3-0 up after 25 mins in the first leg after one of their one-off big game blitzes.

Even if they were though, if City pulled even one back they’d be in a decent position for the second leg. Liverpool took advantage of some incredible sloppy play from City and great finishing to win 4-3 at Anfield. They’ll have to play well for more than just 20 mins to win over 180 mins. City can score home or away and have the same power to blow Liverpool away as they did at the Etihad. Liverpool can go through but there’s a world of difference between City and a poor continental side who don’t travel well.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "We keep the revenge feeling during the week as we want to to back to the winning side.

"I watched Arsenal against Watford, it was 3-0 but it was not a 3-0 game. It was a different game. Watford caused them a lot of problems and they are in a good momentum results wise.

"We respect them but we have our targets and at home it should make it especially difficult for our opponents."

On the defeat to Manchester United: "We use it as motivation, for sure. In professional football you need to be a little bit angry to bring your best on the pitch."

On the Champions League draw: "I think it's an absolute dream draw... for all Manchester United fans!"

the bitters tag really fulfilling the billing now that their fans have infected their german manager. Jurgen mate, let it go, they beta you fair and square, start harping on about united you boring bitter.

I'm surprised some are so confident. This is exactly the type of game that they excel themselves in and everything goes for them. I can see City crumbling under the pressure at Anfield. City need to make sure that they're not losing by more than 1 goal going in to the 2nd leg. If it's only 1 goal, I can still see City putting 3 or 4 past them at the Eithad.

United going out the CL has turned this into a week of good press for them. The reality is they got beat by United where they barely mustered a chance and they’ve got a tough CL draw. Don’t tell any of the mutants though who are still on cloud 9 at United going out, but they’re not bitter though.

What if they don't do a job on them at Anfield mert?

A lot will rely on injuries. City were shorn a bit at Anfield last time. If one team is at full strength and the other had key players missing it could decide the tie. Liverpool ain’t beating any of the teams in the draw over 2 legs unless all of the front three are fit for every minute of the tie. Solanke Ings Lallana are not CL class. I still think they’ll regret selling Coutinho and loaning Sturridge our without replacement before the season is out.

A consideration. Although by the SF stages I think the viewing figures will be constant in any case.

Kopites are hailing the fact they’ll have a ‘neutral’ ref as a leveller, yeah because they’re so badly done to by premier league refs ha. A European ref if anything would be a plus for City unless he’s yet another misty eyed old fool who gre up weened on the teet of Dalglish and Rush.

I really doubt it, Hillsborough is a huge deal in our minds because we are football fans, but I wouldn't take it for granted that everyone else is so familiar with it, or at least with the details. My girlfriend had never even heard of it until last year, which was incredibly surprising to me because she's 32 and her dad's a Liverpool fan. This looks like an unfortunate coincidence, and they will hopefully remove the item from sale

Weird choice of Marley song to go for.
Weird to get the name and lyrics wrong after choosing that song.
Weird to go for red and white lettering/colours.
Very very weird to post as the centre piece if the design a massive 96 which dominates the shirt and the only link is the sings release date 15 years after he died.

Bit if a weakness of mine buying t-shirts from bygone musicians etc, kobain, Marley, Lennon and lots of others, honestly say never seen any design remotely like this and it just so happens that by coincidence, 3 things, colour, year, slogan can be linked heavily with Hiillsborough.

Sorry mate, it'd be as blatant as someone doing a huge white 58 on a red t-shirt, with the lyrics to leaving on a jet plane on it.
