ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

That happens every year 2-3 times, they play 35 times in the regular season and have been divisional rivals for over a 100 years.

I worked and lived in NYC for nearly 12 years, both cities are baseball mad,i saw first hand how intense that rivalry is,it's like Barca and Real if i could compare it.

On another note i read that of the 8 klopp signings who played in that city tie cost a combined 4 million pound net,i'm sure the Roma team had a low net spend as well as they have sold a lot of players and replaced well.

Both clubs use the moneyball approach of analytics in identifying players, the owner of Roma was a shareholder of FSG and the Red Sox at the time they bought the RS on the cheap.

I hope Brands can emulate what Monchi and the RS have done and build squads based on diligent scouting and buying the right players for the system you want to implement with a forward thinking modern day expansive ethos manager.

Last years signings on a whole was so mismatched and poor,no cohesion,no planning and this season has shown the result of that awful splurge, and we are so far behind the RS on the pitch right now on footballing terms,Brands needs to change that when he comes in,it will probably take 2-3 seasons to fix that sadly to get to that level.

God, you're boring. And you know screw-all about baseball. The Yankees and Red Sox play 19 times in the regular season, not 35. And they don't have 2-3 bench clearings between them every year. There might be three or four in all of major league baseball each season. Do us all a favour and shut your yap.

You must be a long suffering Blue Jays fan who sees his team in the playoffs once every 25 years when the Yanks and Redsox miraculously have a bad year at the same time.

The 35 times was in jest at the stupid amounts of times all the teams in the divisions in baseball play each other.

I remember when i was living in NYC when Vlad and Halladay were wasting their prime years playing in Canada for terrible teams.

And you're an insufferable kopite. We all know it here, so why do you persist?

Is right.... pipe dat bish down

Roma accidentally advertised tickets for a Liverpool v Roma semi final.....

I think Roma have more chance of beating Liverpool than Madrid or Bayern. They know Salah very well and can nullify his threats like they did vs. Messi. They are more organized and pragmatic at the back so won't get caught on the counter. Very much like Sevilla. Madrid and Bayern might be the victim of their egos and play expansive football which will suit Liverpool.

If Madrid makes it to semis. I am no Liverpool fan but your logic and prediction are quite senseless.

Haha yeah, I fully expect you to still be posting on here when it goes all pear shaped.

Amazing how many bitter reds sign up for this forum after they win a big game. They just vanished at a click of the finger when they lost to united.

They didnt have Salah then, he's like Ronaldo or Messi and can virtually win games on his own. I,m worried myself.

Ooh look at me, I put paddock in my name to make sure nobody thinks I'm a kopite. What's that over there? Everton thread, new manager discussions, new dof possibilities, how about that new stadium?

Nah its OK, I'll just comment on the RS. Bitters strike again.

They wont because the Coach thing happened outside of the ground. City would be in charge of policing fans inside their ground so there's no chance of them playing behind closed doors at Anfield because of flares at the Etihad.

Plus, I can't imagine UEFA allowing the spectacle of the champions league semi finals to be sullied (*cough* sponsors wouldn't like it*) by having one of the legs of the business end of the competition played with an empty ground.

A quick google shows Legia Warsaw and Hadjuk Split recently playing behind closed doors against Real in a group game, and a UEFA cup qualifier respectively and both were cited for "racist behaviour" so I think it has to be pretty extreme. No doubt a 5 figure fine and a round of champagne on the sponsors will suffice.

And yet the FA let the bitters get off scot free for their racist behaviour of booing and shouting 'one lying [Poor language removed]' to a racial victim at the very same place where the incident happened.

I know it was unpalatable but it's categorically not racist to boo someone or call them a lying so and so. To shout racism at every oppurtunity muddies the waters of what, and what is not, a racist act and attitudes like this probably contribute to the original Holgate incident being dismissed IMO.

No mate.

He was found guilty which means Evra wasn’t lying.

To imply otherwise or excuse it is racist by definition.
