Seems Kopite behaviour has spread across the pond as Henry's Red Sox pitcher threw the ball at a Yankee's hitter.. and all hell broke loose.

That happens every year 2-3 times, they play 35 times in the regular season and have been divisional rivals for over a 100 years.

I worked and lived in NYC for nearly 12 years, both cities are baseball mad,i saw first hand how intense that rivalry is,it's like Barca and Real if i could compare it.

On another note i read that of the 8 klopp signings who played in that city tie cost a combined 4 million pound net,i'm sure the Roma team had a low net spend as well as they have sold a lot of players and replaced well.

Both clubs use the moneyball approach of analytics in identifying players, the owner of Roma was a shareholder of FSG and the Red Sox at the time they bought the RS on the cheap.

I hope Brands can emulate what Monchi and the RS have done and build squads based on diligent scouting and buying the right players for the system you want to implement with a forward thinking modern day expansive ethos manager.

Last years signings on a whole was so mismatched and poor,no cohesion,no planning and this season has shown the result of that awful splurge, and we are so far behind the RS on the pitch right now on footballing terms,Brands needs to change that when he comes in,it will probably take 2-3 seasons to fix that sadly to get to that level.

Intense rivalry makes it ok then, glad to hear it.

Wind it in lad ffs. .. you're fooling nobody

No way will I ever stupidly give it the big 'un about teams 'smashing' them etc until they are out. In 2005 I was expecting them to lose every round and we know what happened there.

My gob is shut until someone actually beats them.

Truth bomb right here.

I mouthed off every round until they were in the final and fully expected what was, on paper, probably one of the greatest teams every assembled to destroy them in the final.

Until they're eliminated I'm keeping my mouth firmly closed

Easy this net spend gig when you sell players for £125mill a pop

Still grinds my gears how the media chortled for years about Grobbelaar's 'hilarious' wobbly legs routine in the final against Roma.

When the ruling was clear at that time that the keeper wasn't allowed to move before the penalty was taken, even on his goal line

Still, why let a little thing like the laws of the game get in the way when talking about that murderous, self-absorbed, entitled shower of inbreds?
