This CL tie is a load of malarkey; it's just a massive 'look over here, not there' distraction away from our Newcastle result. And of course the media fall for it hook, line and sinker. It's deucedly unfair that our significantly more relevant game has been subsumed by the triflings of some no-mark fixture between two also-rans. I'm no tin-foil milliner but I smell a conspiracy against us Blues, and I'm loath to say it, but I detect the malevolent hand of of some witchdoctor in this apparent curse upon us.

Butterflies started already. Roma play a tried and tested game with Dzeko playing on the shoulder and getting in behind. Top striker who will be the danger. Naingollan and De Rossi can stifle any midfield and the whole team are no mugs. Ideal scenario is a win with a clean sheet, would take a goalless draw right now though. Hopefully the plod will be more proactive than last time rather than standing watching people letting off pyro. The away leg will be moody as always ( our kid got a chain across the back in 84 off a blert riding pillion on a scooter and they love the stabbing) . Need both games to pass of peacefully because that's all it is at the end of the day, a game.

As discussed at the time on here, all the smoke from the flares obscured any identification hopes regarding the criminals throwing at the coach. It's what they always do in their games at home.

If Roma go 3 at the back creating 1v1's against Firmino Mane and Salah where Firmino will drop deep dragging his marker leaving acres of space for the other 2 and Chamberlian then they will get blitzed as Fazio (ex Spurs flop) is as slow as a carthorse,i expect Roma to go 433 and keep it tight all over the pitch.

Just need Roma to be a better version of West Brom ha. Anything resembling a Mourinho game plan against them will leave Roma with a chance in the second leg. If Roma come out guns blazing then their manager is as stupid as Pep.

I do hope that nothing happens. I remember Heysel and couldn't ever wish for anything like that to happen again. How Liverpool FC can seemingly allow this behaviour to regain roots in their support is beyond belief. It needs to be stamped out completely and vigilance against it needs to be constant.

People were stabbed in Rome the last time they played there - who in their right mind could want this? It's not a race to the bottom of the heap. A friendly and enjoyable visit for Roma, would promote a better visit for Liverpool fans over in Italy. This lunacy of giving people a 'welcome' can only exacerbate the situation over there. The minimum a travelling fan or team should expect is safety.

That's my point. I DON'T want people getting stabbed or beaten up. But Italian ultras can be a lot more dangerous than English fans, and if kopites do to Roma what they did to City, it is going to piss a lot of people off, and it could get extremely ugly.
