ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The stakes are getting higher and higher.

I suppose the way to look at this now is to acknowledge that we are bricking it (most of us are) and they have the biggest prize in the club game in Europe within their reach.

However, it cuts both ways: the prize is enormous, yes. But it's an enormous blow to have it ripped off you in the final game. The absolute dreamland elation is almost there for them to taste and enjoy; but the flip side of that is if they fall short it will be utterly devastating - something you dont come back from for years and it'd break that team and probably lose them Salah and a couple of others. They have the weight of the world on them going to Kiev. Let's see if they have the shoulders to cope with it.

They would be actually the worst assembled side to ever win it.

How that midfield and defence is in with a shout is beyond me.

Have to get undone at some point.

These lads say hello.

Not a top top side mate. A good one like.

Madrid or Bayern in the final will probably be too much for them. Probably.

I turned off after 3-0 to be honest dave, it was ugly, Romas midfield is sexual, but as others have said, they thought it was a good idea to play a high line and they just ignored the midfield.

As I said, fair play to them.

Think we need to accept the stars have aligned for them here. Easiest group in CL history, easiest last 16 draw, City playing right into their hands, Roma putting Barca out then them getting the easiest semi final draw. It’s all gone their way.

Like I said before, the ball to Dzeko was the one. Naingollan was boss first half and they could have been two up first half. We missed a few chances before we went ahead. They can score a few but hopefully we learn from City away and don't act daft. Kolarov a real danger but Fazio is ropey. 5 in a semi final ain't shabby. Wijnaldum was excellent and deserve a goal but just scuffed it. Great game of footy. The experience gained is priceless regardless of how it ends.

The awful truth is that there's three teams in this competition that could have beaten Liverpool before now over two legs: Bayern, Barca and Madrid...and they've only had to play one of them in a shootout over 90 minutes.

It's hard not to be fatalistic about this now, but it's still in the balance. Very much so. If Madrid go through I think we're in reasonably good shape, though even they can be beaten by a team playing out of its skin.

Interesting final ahead.
