There is a difference between being a racist and saying something racist.

Suarez has done the latter, but whether he's the former is something only he knows at this point.

I thought people understood the difference between the two by now anyway.


Not excusing Suarez mind. I think he's a bellend of the highest order, and the way he's being backed seems to undermine the issue of racism. The whole "zero tolerance" of racism is definitely made a mockery of when they not only tolerate Suarez instead of accepting the charge, but they actually support him and what he's said.

But I don't think a fan wanting him back in the team is a fan who's sacrificing their morals.

There's no justifying him abusing Evra if he did, but one isolated incident doesn't make him racist. Wanting him back in the team isn't condoning what he did; if he does it again there's no way back for him, but if he was genuinely a racist I don't think I'd support him at all.
