Could be. You could argue Everton done the same when Duncan Ferguson went to jail mate.

I don't think its that though, I think it's because the vast majority of fans, players and the manager have backed themselves into a corner by denying it since it happened without waiting to see the outcome. Now they're looking blinkered and foolish so pride is taking over and they're trying to fight their way of their corner.

If I've read correctly we can't appeal the verdict only the sentence. If we only appeal to the fa I can only see one outcome and that is that they will increase the ban. It's pretty obvious we're not going to get a fair hearing so I hope we fight them all the way in court and get the ban lifted and a very publi apology to us and Luis for trying to ruin his reputation and career not only with their ridiculous verdict but also the 3momths they've taken to reach it in which time Luis has suffered dogs abuse and been given no protection whatsoever by the pfa or match officials.

Then I'd like us to sue the **** out of every publication and individual that has not bothered to question on what evidence Luis has been found guilty but instead simply applauded the fa for 'taking a stand'.

Former footballer Stan Collymore has become the subject of abuse on Twitter after he highlighted racist comments posted about Manchester United player Patrice Evra.

The ex-Liverpool and Nottingham Forest striker was told to commit suicide by some users of the micro-blogging website after directing his followers to tweets that called the French defender a "black piece of ****", among other things.
The remarks were apparently made by football fans reacting to Evra's allegations that current Liverpool striker Luis Suarez racially abused him during a match at Anfield on October 15.
Suarez has been banned from playing in the Premier League for eight games and fined £40,000.
Evra claimed that Suarez had said a racist insult to him "at least 10 times", however the Uruguayan denies the allegations.

Collymore, who is now a pundit for Talksport radio, posted some of the messages from people calling themselves Liverpool fans.
He wrote: "Just have one look at my favourites and tell me there isn't at least something to address. Nobody's playing any cards, it's there to read."
In response, someone calling themselves Jon Juwanson wrote: "Do us a favour Stan go and hang yourself like Gary Speed. Ok *******."

As support for Collymore poured in on Twitter, he was moved to write: "The lovely tweets outstrip the bad 100/1 so thankyou to those who do. Not ignoring you, just highlighting a serious issue."

This FA explanation of their decision to be released in the next couple of days - I hope it just says:

"He's guilty because he's a diving, buck-toothed loathsome little Kopite tvvat...Evidence for the Negrito stuff? We've got none. Now go and ****ing swing it you victim-obssessed [Poor language removed]".

TBH I think its wrong to suggest they are victim-obsessed, both in this case and in general.

What this is a clear example of however is their belief that there is no law or moral standpoint that should ever apply negatively to them, those players/managers they like, or indeed their weltanschauung as a whole - irrespective of how hypocritical or nonsensical any standpoint they happen to take may be.

Pretty depressing

I was working in Speke the other week and the client I was advising was a proper Evertonian Scouse lad we had a chat about the football and he was severley pissed off that Liverpool FC are giving proper Scousers a bad name.
