Loving the crazed reds phoning up the united supporting dj on the talksport phone-in.

He's winding them up something rotten.

Caller: "He just called him negrito which is a term of affection."

DJ: "Well I would just like to apologise on your behalf to the country for your use of a racist word."

Caller: "I don't believe this."

DJ: "That's because youre a liverpool fan."

I'm simply loving this.

Who was the DJ mate wasnt Terry Christian was it ?

A man called into George Galloway last night. He was well spoken and sounded educated enough but decided to accuse the City of Liverpool of being racist based upon this and the Anthony Walker murder.
Fair play to Galloway he put him right in his place.

Never understood that attitude Merseyside has always been anti racist / bang on socialist in my experience

I'm not sure I could put it better than this

RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH
What's the Scouse for disingenuous? Liverpool FC plead naivety (aka 'ignorance') on their player's behalf in mitigation of his repeated use of racist language against Patrice Evra, a black Frenchman of African origin. Contrary to the assertion of unknowingness, Luis Suarez demonstrably understands the linguistically sophisticated limits of 'sledging'. The palpable intention of sledging in sport is to 'needle' an opponent in order to seek to gain a performance advantage by putting the opponent 'off his game'.
Consequently, If, as seems plausible, the purported 'ignorance' has been feigned, then surely we may reasonably conclude that the offense against decency is worse because rather than own-up to error and instance of wrong-doing and apologize for it, the player and club opted for the relativist reasoning of cultural difference to defend otherwise indefensible utterances. Given the severity of the ruling, the FA Commission of Inquiry apparently weren't persuaded by Suarez's purported naivety and have taken a punitive view of the cynicism of LFC's belligerent defense. And to add insult to the injurious words used, the club's statement elected to further calumny Evra, the object of Suarez's racist speech. By contrast, to be clear, showing that he knows the real difference, while indicting racist speech, Evra has said he doesn't believe Suarez to be a racist. The allegation (proven to the satisfaction of the panel of inquiry) was that Suarez used racist language.
As Ian Prior's article ably argues, the Football club's stance is motivated by commercial imperatives. Suarez is their best or second-best player and they don't want to lose him for eight games because they calculate that the points tally from those eight games will in all likelihood be less without him than with him in their team. I see a link here with the example of the tabloids and the evidence presented to the Levenson Inquiry, revealing, at root, that the unethical behaviour of the tabloid press is a natural product of unregulated commercial motives. Analogously, LFC's position is an unethical and uninterested in truth as the NotW: unless of course one takes the view that the ethics of big business justifies denigration of all values other than partisan pursuit of profit at all costs. To cast Suarez as a victim in these circumstances and the football club's actions as principled solidarity is as ugly an instance of the twisted logic of cultural relativism as any witnessed in recent years.

Anyone seen the abuse on twitter that Collymore and Paul McGrath have been getting? - typical from the red ****e, and typical of Queen Kenny to keep stirring it, as I'm a n00b I can't post a link, but go search Stan Collymore in the news or go to his twitter page and click 'favourites'.

Police are getting involved now, so they should say something to prevent anymore ****e being said.
