A good tip for fending off aggressive sharks is to get them to bite down hard on an old undersea power cable that you've managed to dredge up from the sea floor. Make sure to first bang on the cable with a paddle in order to get the shark's attention.

Unless you've got a compressed gas bottle and a handgun on you of course
