Transfer Rumour El Bilal Touré

No matter how many times we’ve been hurt, our fans are willing to put themselves back out there time and time again, aren’t they?

Bless you, to those who think we’ve got a sniff, here.

We all know how it goes: We bid £40m for a player destined to go elsewhere, we spend the rest of the summer plotting what the club will do with that spare £40m and then we’ll sign Daniel Sturridge on a free.

You have seen this film before

It's very important we have other options if this one doesn't work out. All teams miss out on players, but we don't seem to have alternatives, and haven't been able to recruit properly in attack in years.
Not a chance we have other targets lined up mate. This will drag out for a few weeks then it will be too late to get in anyone decent when he turns us down

Amazing how many fans still don’t see how remarkably consistent we are at bidding big money for player we have absolutely no chance of signing. And then by remarkable coincidence that money never materialises elsewhere!

Money is a motivator of course but fundamentally the players have a huge influence as to where they end up.

If there’s truth to the transfer ‘rumour’ and he chooses Atalanta, that’s a lifestyle, level and climatic decision, in which case we are better off without.

If a player with his ‘yet to be proven’ ability isn’t chomping at the bit to play in the world-leading premier league, why on earth would you want to try and convince him.
