Transfer Rumour El Bilal Touré

Not a great sign that we can't convince a player to come to us over inter toto Cup giants Atlanta, watched is fail to get inanacheao now and end up with Weighorst at the very end of the transfer window.

Anyone thought he would come here over Atalanta are sheer bonkers, we are a crisis club right now with a basket case leadership and not a pot to pee in.

And in true Evertonian style “ Mate in Spain told he he isn’t that good anyways” which is actually true…
Ultimately most things in life come down to money though and I still think this could come down to wages. Our wage structure could allow us to offer a good amount more than Atalanta, unless they totally push the boat out.

Maybe he prefers to play there, maybe he wants Europe etc but at the same time he’s a young lad from a fairly poor country who probably hasn’t made a a load of money in his career yet, would he turn down an extra million a year?

Most people would take a short-term view of the situation.

We've avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth for two seasons running.
We change managers regularly.
We don't play in Europe.
We are mediocre by every description.
There is a permanent air of crisis and uncertainty about ownership.

He is a young player and probably figures he can use the time at Atalanta as a stepping stone and in the meantime enjoy playing at a club where things are done properly and where there is a sense of momentum and sustained progress.

We still have to put ourselves out there, that's the important thing. Some will bite. But it's no surprise when we get turned down either, not in our current state, and even if we have the money.

Hope Toure sends one of these when he confirms he's signing for Atalanta

We have to be one of the least attractive clubs in Europe at this time.

Perpetual relegation battles leaving little room to “show yourself off”
Unattractive manager to play for
Financially broke meaning likely not a great wage even comparably to Europe

Anyone who has suitors elsewhere will beat us to players that are actually half decent.
