Not proper oldschool, I was more a mid-late 90's raver, particularly jungle/dnb... I was only like 10 years old when the rave scene was kicking off for first time, I think I went to my first one in 1995 when I was 14.
Tbf, that's when it kicked off proper anyway..you didnt miss much really, dummys, fluorescent jackets, pork pie hats and sped up vocals.. late 95-99 was deffo the best era imo. Jungle, dub, Aphex and Acen were my jam.

Heard this played on a proper rig the other night. Not often you hear a tune in 17/8 time tear up a dance floor. It's pretty much sonic perfection from a production standpoint, in probably the hardest to produce genre out there.

Noisia’s production level borders on witchcraft at times. They seem to be able to push through every kHz of the sound spectrum in every track.

From their album of the same name, not drum n bass, but still huge non the less

I remember listening to some crap low quality clip of this from a Grooverider set for years until it finally got released a year back, one of if not my favourite dnb tracks ever, was so far ahead of the game when it was made back in 96... shame it took over 20 years to finally release it.

Was always into this remix by optical. In retrospect, a lot of d’n’b hasn’t aged well but producers like optical and his brother matrix stand the test of time. Sleepwalk being the stand out album during that later 90’s early 00’s in my opinion
