Horror first half show for Eliaquim Mangala as £32m Manchester City new boy scores an own goal and concedes a penalty
So this is what £32m buys you in modern football. Manchester City's expensive new defender Eliaquim Mangala suffered a nightmare first half as he was responsible for the champions surrendering a 2-0 lead at Hull.
- French defender Eliaqium Mangala heads into his own net under little pressure to give Hull hope after Manchester City raced into a 2-0 lead
- Concedes a penalty for a high boot on Abel Hernandez
After Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko had scored for the visitors, the Frenchman someone contrived to head past Willy Caballero, on his first Premier League appearance, to bring Hull back into it on 21 minutes.
And just 10 minutes later he hauled down Abel Hernandez in the penalty area, and the Uruguayan striker picked himself up to bring the scores level. A shell shocked Manchester City went in at half-time drawing 2-2 with work to do in the second period.

Wow, not like the Mail to have it in for young, rich and black French people. Great find mate, please post more of these.
BBC pundit Phil Neville on Match of the Day
"Mangala had a poor day. Considering how well he played against Diego Costa last week, I was expecting more from him. For the first goal, he just gets himself in totally the wrong position and the second goal was a certain penalty. He gets himself too tight to Hernandez and it's a clumsy tackle. He's quite ungainly at times when he's on the ball. This taught him a lesson about the Premier League, that there's no easy games."
Don't tell me Phil Neville is xenophobic too!
This is getting a bit stalkerish....
Every footballer has bad games if you look hard enough. With most of our lot you don't even have to look very hard.
Well, his tweets suggested he's a bit sexist, so it's quite possible he doesn't like foreigners either.
Doesn't explain if there was a call from the keeper or who was at fault. That is unless you already have an agenda.Seems Mangala saved the day anyway,so the point is?Eurosport BIG CHANCE! A long kick over the top from Hennessey somehow confuses Mangala and Ederson. Benteke seizes upon the loose ball, but sees his shot towards an empty net blocked by a desperate touch from the defender.
✔@StuBrennanMEN Stones for Mangala and Sterling for Bernardo would transform this game for #MCFC
Don't get me wrong, I hope the lad comes in and does a job. But there's no way I can trust my own judgement on a centre half at the moment and I think every one of our fans should be just the same
In which case, it's very strange that he should have worked abroad and now manage a women's football team.
