2022/23 Ellis Simms

He's done that same type of pass a couple times now, once from each side, with the other one resulting in Iwobi drawing a penalty. He also has done some flick ons between the last game and this one that nobody's been there to run on to. He has very obvious limitations, but if he can continue picking out dangerous spaces to play the ball to, whether for himself or somebody else to run on to, he can definitely have a positive impact in the final months. Would love to see Gray getting on the end of a couple of those balls. He'll give it right back to the opposition enough to be frustrating, but he has definitely created some good chances in limited time, thus far.

He did well when he came on , more decent contributions from him than mistakes, a couple of good hold ups and of course the Doucoure pass , if he’d received that pass and one from McNeil he‘d have tucked one of the two away . The dilemma is that Simms is perfect for coming on at 70/80 mins , causing defences problems and adding a bit of pace/ legs to our attack, but of course we’re short of decent starting attackers .

Thought he did okay.

For an isolated striker though I feel like he has such little mobility that it'll never

May be some of use when we are chasing a gmae and getting balls in the box though

There's something there but also lots missing. Shame we can't ease him in or we don't have a decent striker he can learn from and take the pressure away. He's more what we need that maupay like but so is literally any other forward in the league
