2022/23 Ellis Simms

As I understand it, Simms is a type of player who has the body type of Duncan, but would rather play like Messi, so I'm not sure what system he fits into.

Starting to look that way.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is our only hope, need him fit and firing for 10 games and we have a chance.
That’s not going to happen is it? fit and firing asking a bit much I think, offers more than what we have now when he plays but it’s still not enough need someone better than him and maybe reduce him to sub appearances, and would maybe keep him fit but wouldn’t surprise me if he gets injured picking his handbag up.

He’s very slow and looks like he has no fitness. If we are relying on him to keep us up, you may as well relegate us now.

Neither of them are what we need, Maupay is totally the wrong type of player and Simms, it appears, is just not up to it. I would say that Maupay will never be able to lead the line, no matter how many chances he gets, it's just not his game. There is a chance that Simms may grow into the role, even though it looks very doubtful. On that basis I would go with Simms on the premise that he may be at least some use leading the line.

The blame here is recruitment, these are self inflicted wounds, we had two centre forwards 18 months ago, one is now constantly injured and the other has been sold, the Everton answer to this, buy Maupay and recall Simms. What a mess.

Can those Evertonians who fictitiously made these young players sound half decent give their heads a wobble. He’s an actually very very bad.
