Butler has lost his mojo
He's been pretty ropy since the New Zealand seriesIs that before or after he had lost his wicket?

Too many poor shots. If you want to take your chance at international level these are type of games you should be savvy. Taylor didn't.
It's been one day stuff countrywide recently. Two first class games since 9 July, apart from Tests. When did he last play a first class game for Lancs? No chance to play himself into form with proper time in the middle not having to larrup everything.

I agree ; an interesting article on the player's perspective of playing too much :I know, the whole structure is geared around playing County Championship games in April, May and Sept and then squeezing all the one day stuff into the period in between when the sun is meant to shine and evenings are longer. Once a batsman becomes out of form, precious little he can do about it. Throw in Test players being rested, attending training camps and playing back-to-back Tests and their playing time is very limited.
There is talk today of the County Championship being cut from 16 to 14 games.
