You can now use both feet , pads or bat, when facing a delivery if it rolls towards your wickets, in the old rules you could not use your bat as it was classed as hitting the ball twice which was a instant dismissal.
If Watson felt it was easier to kick then that was his option!
That was a rule change - their are so many conflicting rules in cricket i.e. A bowler can now slide his heel over the crease line, and that is not a no ball yet a batsman can have his foot on the batting crease line fully yet can be stumped, if not fully behind the popping crease line?
No sense to me- i played if the game when as a bowler I had to bowl his arm almost touching his ear on delivery, now we allow chuckers, slinging the ball like a discus to gain advantage!
Outlawed for an age till Muller the slinger came to town!
