Unlike the recent series between us and England, (which assisted England in getting honed for this Ashes series), your lot beating Aussie will do NZ no favours as it will usher in a new hungry and very talented young generation of baggy greens to play us in our series against them. A wounded Aussie cricket team is a very dangerous adversary.

I've been saying it for months since the World Cup that Australian batting is poor in the test team. Playing Dad's Army just makes it worse. Been a problem for a few years now.
For the life of me I can't understand why you wouldn't play the guns in the one day team. Maxwell and Faulkner for me should be in.

Because Maxwell is a headcase and Faulkner is a drunk.
I dn't know about that, since theri legion of greats retired they haven't been anything special or dominant, not that long ago they were pretty weak, then a combination of clarkes captaincy and lehmann leadership along with johnsons renaissance put them up there again, but nowhere near were they were, harris's late summer career helped, but he is gone, Starc will be a fine player as will Warner, Smith is good but nowhere near a number one in the world. This is a very decent aussie side, but very beatable too, the NZ series will be interesting to say the least, and englands utter capitulation in oz is no marker of how good this lot are
