Draw was always the target looking at the Aussie score and the best of the batting pitch gone in the first two days.

A draw would be a kick in the teeth for them if we can manage it.

Never judge a pitch until both sides have had a bat on it. Great batting from Smith, England's new players could learn a thing or two about guts and determination from him, he doesn't have the technique but he knows how to score big runs. Ballance and Lyth fall into a similar category technique wise, but no bottle.

Basic but accurate - our Bowling apart from Broad's was appalling short, and wide of off stump - how many 4s went to third man? I lost count a bad captain as well!
Bell , and Ballance are the worst positional batsman I have witnessed at the crease totally static no foot movement , and I played the game!
We needed that Yorkshire wrist spinner to play as well Alli is just a part time spinner , and it showed!

Agreed mate. Ballance has got a glaring weakness to pitched up bowling and the aussies have sussed it.Bell looks very vulnerable when he 1st comes in.as all batsmen do to be honest but he's under pressure if his score's don't improve . England have to dig in for the rest of this match cos the weather can save them.the way tbe aussies surrendered at Cardiff was shocking
