England v Australia - THE ASHES

Not in the remotest bit arsed. Lost count of the times we got trounced in 3 or 4 tests, only to win the final one against Australia.

Ironically, The Oval staged a few of them.

Understand not being arsed about the result, but surely you must be arsed about collapsing to 92-8 on a good batting pitch ? Old habits die hard.

Havnt been watching if I am honest. But Aggers seemed to have nailed it. Playing 20 20 shots in a five day match seems to have infected most teams these last few years. All machismo and that.

The strange aspect to this is that in the four day county game, batsmen are still reasonably circumspect and try to build innings and then look to increase their scoring later once they are well in. They play the same T20, so what is it with Test players that they always want to be in overdrive.

ICC need to sort out the no ball situation, getting ridiculous now.

Been a strange series, just seems that the England bowling unit has turned up more than the Aussies.

Umpires at this level are saying now that they no longer check for no-balls for risk of criticism if they get it wrong on tight calls, close TV scrutiny and all that.

haha has it seriously happened again?

the series should probably be brushed under the carpet tbh. delighted with the result but i've never witnessed a series where the standard has been so poor from pretty much everyone involved. will this one be over before the end of tomorrow again?

are they? i thought the main argument was that they're not admitting it. i wouldn't expect my employers to pay me full wage if i was only doing 3/4rs of my required duties. they have the 3rd umpire checking the line all the time anyway, so why not just have it in their hands if that's the reason why.

it is a bit hard to try and keep your eye on it whilst also quickly turning you're head up the pitch to watch a 90mph delivery to see where it's pitched, hit etc. i'd imagine. especially with legs and feet getting in the way.

Well, if that is the case then they shouldn't make any decisions at all. What with all the TV cameras, pathetic excuse for me. How long have TV cameras been able to show no balls clearly, 30/40 years/longer?

out of interest have the aussies won an away test match outside of london since 2001? they only seem to win at lord's in the last few series.
