Haha Rooney missed to worst chances on the weekend. We won 5.1, scored more goals than any other country in world cup qualifiers...scoring goals is not a problem.
Heskey works in the system. He just can't score.

Was at Wembley tonight, Croatia a pale shadow of the team of two years ago. England were very good tonight, really played well, great movement and a confidence I've never seen from an England side previously.
Might not be popular here, but I thought Rooney was superb tonight, his running, strength in possession, and vision was excellent - best game I've seen him play in an England shirt. Lennon had a great game, tremendous pace!
All in all an excellent evening!

Just a thought, last night the CBs were Terry and Upson. Lescott not even on the bench. Ferdinand to get fit and will no doubt be in there. To me it is looking like Capello will choose Terry, Ferdinand and Upson for his squad. Could well be that Lescott will find himself out in the cold. no SA for him.

I think if England had a Heskey that could score, they'd be sorted.

Upson has always looked solid for England. I think England would be better off with him and Rio in and Terry dropped but that will never happen.
Right now I'd be OK with Croatia in the US group. Right now England, Brasil, Netherlands, Italy, Germany and Spain are No.1 seeds. With Portugal, France and Argentina perhaps not getting in there might be 2 No.1 seeds open.
Guess the contenders would be Russia, Mexico (has a very good FIFA coeficient), USA, Ghana, Ivory Coast and yeesh Australia might have a shot at a 1 seed. If England don't advance past the quarterfinals in 2010 they never will.
