I'm not sure.

I don't buy that the supporters are dickheads. It's the whole nation that is getting behind the team ffs!

And the Scouse anti-England thing I just don't get. The back bone of the team will be scouse with Carragher, Gerrard and Rooney.

And I don't buy it's an 'Everton thing' to hate England.

Goodison Park has so many truely world class memories of the World Cup, with so many of our players making a big impact on the tournament.

Most of the people posting above aren't english.

I think the majority of english based Everton fans on here are not anti-english, perhaps the vocal minority make it seem otherwise.

Well I support any nation from the British Isles if they make it through. I'll support the Aussies, US and NZ if they make it through. I don't hate any nation and I don't wish ill on any nation.

But the vocal minority are making me wonder why I should take the time and effort to put forward a balanced and well thought out preview. I didn't want to do it, but I was persuaded to - now I'm wondering if it was worth it.

I dont hate England, it just pisses me off when jokers like Heskey get games.

Well mate we are not qualified, experienced enough or have a reputation good enough to be an England manager. I don't necessarily agree with Heskey getting a game, but I have to trust Capello - because he's in the job. Just like we questioned certain players being picked by Everton managers over the years.

Why do people want to see England get beaten? You see it's this kind of stuff that made me not want to write this review in the first place. It's like you all hate England and what we stand for. I'm English, my family is English and my friends are. We are not bad people, hooligans, scumbags, thugs, belters or whatever you want to call us.

It really disappoints me to see so many people who live under the same banner as me make such an effort to want to see England lose.

I'm American :D

Honest question here, do you agree with the National team having a foreign manager?

And I thought your preview was good mate, keep it up.

You listed 3 players that the majority of Everton fans hate with a passion, Rooney aside, but a large portion will never forgive him.

Well funny enough mate, this thread and this forum has nish to do with Everton. It's from an England angle. If people still want to get angry over Rooney then that's tough luck. Me, well life's too short to get angry over trivial matters.

Im well over him, but others would appear not to be.

Well I would have preferred to see an Englishman in charge yes, I believe to understand what it means to a nation you have to have a deep understanding of that culture, however, the way the Premier League has gone and the rapid introduction of foreign players basically means that is fairly tough for English managers to rise to the top.

Who could you bring in Redknapp? Allardyce? Maybe Hodgson, but who else?

Exactly.

I don't see club colours during the World Cup. I see 11 Englishmen trying to win the trophy for England.

I think it'll be a boring game, two dour sides slugging it out, England will control the ball but will also look unbalanced at the same time. The USA will try and counter attack every now and then and surrender possession for the majority of the game. A set piece will probably decide it in England's favour. They'll probably get another late on and win the game.

2-0 England.

Well the one person I know who hates Rooney, doesn't hate England. It's the bandwagon that does my head in, people following sheep because they think it's the right direction, but don't really know why they hate England.

I'm proud of my country, it's a country that in the past decades has lost an awful lot of it's children to other people's wars, trying to make other countries a safer place. And if were going to point the finger at hooligans, well I'd like people to have a look at how many people are killing their own citizens all over the world? In America gun crime is rife, yet most Americans seem to be still proud of their nation. How about people in Iraq and Afganistan, Pakistan, Somalia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Korea. War torn (off and on) for decades. We have a stable nation with some great people, and it hurts me and disappoints me when people on here, who are English take pleasure in ripping into the nation for no reason whatsover.

Rant over.
