Erling Braut Haaland

He’s not easily beating Shearer’s record in 5/6 years.

Shearer got 260, he’d either need 43 a season (6 years) or 52 a season (5 years).

Haaland is a beast though.
If he stays injury free he could do it based on recent form. Based on recent form he could beat Dixie Dean's record but let's see if he can keep the goal scoring up. He's off to a great start anyway

I'm no fanboy of Shearer but it always annoys me that his goalscoring record is always quoted as being 260 Premierleague goals. He actually scored 283 league goals as he got 23 first division goals before the Premierleague started.
I'm waiting to see if that stat gets brought up by the media whenever another player gets to 260 goals. Personally I can't see Haaland sticking around in the Premierleague long enough to get that many goals. He'll probably do 2 or 3 seasons at City then move to one of the other top European leagues.

People like to just assume players will stay in one league.
City haven't had to sell many players they didn't want to over the last decade. Aguero, Silva, KdB, Kompany, Walker, Fernandinho and so on. Not guaranteed but the PL is the league and City are the team. It's basically Madrid that could maybe poach him.
